Mets swept by the Braves lmfao.

It isn't funny, but it is.

Hell, this is the second home sweep of the Mets by the Braves this season.

All that can be hoped for now is that they make some other wildcard team have to burn their ace before going to Chicago

LOL@ 3 NL wildcard "contenders" stumbling towards the tape...

Mets and Cards both 5-5 in their last ten, San Francisco is 4-6.

Cards absolutely suck at home, where they're finishing the year;

Mets have to face a really emotional Miami - who still have a shot at the WC themselves - and a Phillies team that gives no shits and is therefore looser;

the Giants have been the worst team in the league since the ASB.

Might see that three-way tie with an extra playoff game...or Miami might ride the emotion to make it a four-way dealie.

7 teams still alive in the AL; Toronto and Baltimore holding them at the moment but about to play each other 3X.

Detroit facing Cleveland who have already clinched, and then they help close out Turner Field in Atlanta...no telling how that series will go.

Seattle and Houston fighting it out right now and need some help.

Royals, enjoy last year's title. Yankees, get bent.

FanGraphs give a 22% chance of a 2-way tie for the second AL wildcard, and an 8% chance for a 3-way tie for either the first or second. A 3-way tie would be fucking awesome.

They give a 24% of a 2-way tie for the second NL wildcard.

Personally, I'm hoping that there's a 3-way tie in the AL and a 2-way tie in the NL.

Is that primarily because
1) you like baseball
2) you want your eventual LDS opponent to be completed wasted

Given the state of the Indians' rotation, I think they're one of the weakest teams heading into October.

But they do have a great bullpen and a solid offense, so who knows. There's a few recent examples of weak playoff teams getting hot and going deep into October and even winning the whole thing. A lot of crapshootidity coming up.

So if the Giants win, the Cards will be 2 out with 4 games left to play.

Bumgardner is almost a lock to pitch in the WC game if they make it since he's pitching on Friday

I hope the Cards miss the playoffs, but I'm also pretty sick of the "even year!!!" crap. Giants are pretty crappy.

And of course the Giants lose to the Rockies last night
