I really want to pick Denver by 10+ here, but we're not really blowing teams out either. I see a close game that comes down to the 4th qtr.

I'm calling Denver 27
Seattle 20

For those that think Seattle is more balanced than Denver....It's just not true.

Denver finished 1st in Pass offense and 15th in rushing offense. Seattle finished 26th in pass offense and 4th in rush offense. If you actually look at YPG, the run offenses are actually very similar as Seattle avg 4.3 per carry and Denver avg 4.1 per carry

Seattle played WAY better defensive opponents this year in the NFC West… You just don't understand how good this division is defensively…

with 1/4 to 1/3 of those points a direct reflection of turnovers. without them you probably wouldn't be better than 18-20 scoring offense. probably wouldn't have even been in the playoffs if that was the case. Your conference game win was a perfect example of that, No turnovers = 9ers would have won.

I wouldn't count on all that too much, Denver was top 4 on both sides of the ball last year, we all know how that worked out.

Do you have stats to back up this dumb statement of yours?

Lost in all this talk of how the Seahawks aren't balanced on offense are two things:

The Seahawks didn't have many passing yards because they didn't pass the ball much, so it wasn't so much that they can't pass the ball as that they wanted to run it more.

The Seahawks had Percy Harvin for one game for the entire regular season. Even if the amount of passing attempts had stayed the same with 16 games of Harvin, you're kidding yourself if you think the yards wouldn't have increased. His presence alone would have made life easier for the other receivers and when he does catch the ball, he's a play maker. Harvin will be playing in this game, so you can pretty much throw anything you know about the Seahawks passing offense out the window.

Harvin is the x-factor most people aren't talking about enough.

Not going to be as close as many think imo.

During the 2013 regular season, few defenses gave Denver more fits than Jacksonville's, which is run by ex-Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. Despite major talent deficiencies, Bradley's scheme held the Broncos to 14 points through one half in Week 6, and the scoreboard read 21-19 deep into the third quarter. The Jaguars blitzed Peyton Manning on just 2-of-42 dropbacks, got pressure with their front four, and played physical press coverage on the perimeter. They held Demaryius Thomas to three catches for 78 scoreless yards, Julius Thomas to a 4-22-1 line, and Eric Decker to 5-50. The Seahawks will play the Broncos in similar fashion. And they have much better players than the Jaguars.

That is what i am going with, and if you read the rest Denvers D is meh against the pass, they will have to keep changing and committing.

Keep on dreaming man. Pretty sure you'd have a wet dream over that one.

DJ thinks it will be the other way around. And yes, it would be a dream come true if that score becomes a reality.

I don't honestly know what the score will be. I think the Hawks are the better all around team but there is just something about Peyton this year. Something that tells me he won't have his normal playoff meltdown. I am totally at a loss as to who wins.

Good luck, though. :suds:

This game has been analyzed from so many different angles that pretty much anything could happen and nobody would be surprised. I'm personally prepared for pretty much anything.

I'll take the Hawks 27 to 24....though for the nerves I hope we can have at least a 2 score lead in the 4th. Also want to the Hawks to stay aggressive in the 4th. Sometimes I feel they let up at times with the lead in the 4th and give the opposing team a ray of hope to get back in...aka the last Saints game.

I also predict that midnightangle will come out with a post that says "See, I told you so! Lynch didn't rush for 150y and Seattle still doesn't deserve to be champions". And Morpheus will still call us idiots after making some lame attempt to tell us the better team won.

And we have a partial winner... Angel did indeed bring up Lynch not making 150y. :laugh3: Whoever trolled her on that one really scored. And while she hasn't actually said we don't deserve the trophy, she did say our defense wasn't even as good as the steelers '08 defense so close enough? :noidea:
