Man wouldn't it be nice to have an electrifying returner? Last time I was excited about a returner was when Demps was going to field kicks.

He was undrafted but I can't see him making it through to #32

Oh I didn't mean to insinuate he was electryfying. Just day dreaming about how nice it would be having a returner that scared other teams would be.

Source: Pats trade QB Brissett to Colts for WR

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Dorsett was a 2015 first-round draft choice of the Indianapolis Colts (29th overall). He has played in 26 regular-season games (7 starts), totaling 51 catches for 753 yards and three touchdowns.

While he fielded just two punts for the Colts over the last two seasons, that is likely a role the Patriots will explore using him after losing receiver Julian Edelman and No. 2 returner Cyrus Jones to season-ending knee injuries this preseason.

Dorsett was one of the fastest players in the 2015 draft, having tallied 121 receptions for 2,132 yards and 17 touchdowns at the University of Miami. His 22.3 yards per catch average in his final two collegiate seasons was the most in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Individual players cut before the cut down deadline are basically free agents. For example, if the Patriots 'release' Bolden at 3:00 PM then any team can contact him or every team can contact him. Players being released early are being given a chance to sign with a team they'd like to play for not some team making practice squad grabs.

Come the 4:00 PM cuts, then the waiver wire kicks in.

On a totally different note...............the Brissett trade has to mean that something is cooking elsewhere. A Grappolo trade maybe?? Brock Osweiler can be had for the veteran min. he'd love coming to NE because he could play behind Brady and he's due $16M a year from the Texans for the next 2 years. There are a bunch of teams that might be willing to give up players and picks for JG. Think the Jets would give up DE Leonard and next year's #1 for JG?????

The clock is ticking........................tick, tick, tick

With everything that's going on, there are rumors and rumors of rumor. Don't know what to make of this one and I can't find anything anywhere.

Rumor.....The Patriots are in discussions with the SF 49ers about acquiring DE Aldon Smith. Haven't heard about players or picks. I'll keep looking to see if this is BS or real.

Someone who is near BK....please call 911. Contact his family and have them get his brain checked. Did your account get hacked?

I can't believe you mentioned Osweiler as a Patriot. Trade Jimmy and bring in Osweiler. Someone check BK's meds.

FOXBORO -- The Patriots are getting healthier as the season opener against the Chiefs is just five days away.

Core special teams player Nate Ebner and undrafted rookie Harvey Langi returned to Patriots practice on Saturday afternoon, which was held in full pads.

Here is the complete list of players who were missing from the session: Devin Lucien, Tony Washington, Jason Thompson, D.J. Killings, LeShun Daniels, Glenn Gronkowski, Jonathan Freeny, Shea McClellin, Tony Garcia, Mike Bart, Josh Augusta, Max Rich, Jason King, Sam Cotton, Vincent Valentine, Julian Edelman, Derek Rivers and Cyrus Jones.

Some of these players reportedly were cut on Friday.

Of note, is Lucien and Valentine. Lucien was seen in the locker room and it's unclear what is happening with Valentine.

Maybe working a trade? I was really pulling for Lucien. Just bad timming with NE so flush on quality WRs the past two years.

I've been waiting for a defensive lineman. Marsh looks pretty good.
Basically, we get him for Coleman. To think I would have given them Coleman for a bowl of soup!
