• The Orioles will make left-hander Wei-Yin Chen a qualifying offer this winter, Heyman reports. Chen might not seem like a prototypical QO candidate, but he’s a lock to turn it down, in my mind, coming off a very nice season at age 30. He should draw pretty significant interest this winter, as MLBTR’s Jeff Todd recently noted in examining Chen’s free agent stock.

Orioles designated OF Nolan Reimold for assignment.

Reimold was sporting a weak .227/.306/.340 batting line in 108 plate appearances with Baltimore. The 31-year-old outfielder will likely pass through waivers unclaimed. Henry Urrutia has taken over as the O's primary left fielder.

Orioles recalled RHP Jorge Rondon from Triple-A Norfolk.

Rondon has surrendered 11 runs -- 10 earned -- in 4 1/3 innings this season for the O's. The 27-year-old right-hander will primarily pitch in low-leverage situations.

Orioles activated UTIL Steve Pearce from the 15-day disabled list.

Pearce missed over a month with a strained oblique. He's been a big disappointment in the followup to his "breakout" 2014 and probably won't hold much fantasy value down the stretch. The 32-year-old is slashing just .227/.290/.392 in 58 total games this season.

Orioles placed C Steve Clevenger on the paternity leave list.

Clevenger can be away from the team for up to three days. Paul Janish will take his place on the active roster.

Orioles purchased the contract of INF Paul Janish from Triple-A Norfolk.

Janish was batting .235/.313/.272 over 95 games in Triple-A. The 32-year-old hasn't appeared in the majors since 2013, but he'll provide some middle infield depth with J.J. Hardy (groin) on the disabled list.
