I've never seen a player so relieved after a hit

Caught his interview with Emily Jones. She kind of joked if he was waiting for a slam to get the HR and he deflected in a real way just wanting to do well. Would not gloat about club sweep and getting to 500.
I get she is into the entertainment side and wants to come across as a pal but he is a pro and won’t be baited

A HR from Josh Smith last night and a double in his first at bat this evening. Also this from Scott Lucas today:

Josh Smith's homer was only the 15th-hardest of the night, but he angled it perfectly. Smith can get a hold of a pitch, but his expertise is softer liners that are nearly always hits, if not the extra-base variety. By my count, he has a team-leading 26 balls in play of that type with an .808 average.

Smith is playing in CF tonight with Taveras in RF.

And now a triple in Smith's second at bat. The kid has heated up.

Ideal lead off hitter IMO

Man I’m so glad we made that gallo trade with the Yankees. Duran, smith, and Otto could all end up being good ones.

Josh adds a single in his third at bat. He is a HR short of a cycle. I believe his last at bat last night was his HR.
