The Rangers have announced no starters for this series. I was under the impression that they would just skip deGrom's spot, which would be tonight. Reports are that tonight would be a bullpen game, which also seems strange, as the Angels are the second place team and the Rangers certainly could use wins in at least 2 out of 3 here.

Game times are 8:30, 8:00, and 3:00.

The Rangers come in at 18-12, and in 1st place. They are +5 vs 2022.

That is not good, and that is why I wanted Dunning and Ragans and Otto to start the year in AAA once they signed Heaney.

As I mentioned, they have not announced anyone yet. It could very well be Eovaldi.

Dane Dunning is going to take the deGrom spot in the rotation and is expected to pitch a lot against the Angels, but the Rangers might turn to an opener for an inning or two to help make things easier on Dunning.

And that’s interesting. Obviously, the idea is to use a reliever who’s doing to get three outs, maybe more, without surrendering any runs. With a few relievers scuffling, the Rangers need all of late-innings relievers for later in the game.

Agree. If we happen to need Ragans and Burke then next two games look dim in the pen.

I can live with one time. If a trend then there has to be issues. They are protecting BP guys like Howard who we just can’t let a roster spot go to waste for. He better get fixed
