Happy to see some of the baby Pens getting experience. Especially the D. Shero's stockpiling is paying off. Now that we know the kids can play, let's see one of two things:

1) Swing another "Whitney for Kunitz" or "Goligoski for Neal" type deal.
2) Trade away Orpik and/or Niskanen for a decent winger.

We have cheap D who are ready to step up. Need to take advantage. Desperately need another winger so that Dupuis can finally play on the third line where he belongs.

Dupuis has been such a mainstay on that first line, but man he's been lacking this year. I'm thinking that he's nursing an injury. Doesn't have the usual jump in his step. I agree though. If I had a choice, I'd trade Orpik. Not sure the return would be that great though, considering his deal expires this year.

WBS Pens are now 2-0 in the NHL. The Doobster is proud of the prospects so far.

Is Letang's contract unmovable? Depending on how teams feel about the money, he could fetch a nice big return.

He's got the biggest upside, the most decoration, and he's been playing the worst.

Nisky or Orpik would be easy to move, though, and we could get back what we wanted.

Shero "promised not to trade him" before that NTC kicks in next year. *sigh* Seriously think that thing goes down as an abomination in a few years. Just so much money tied up in a player who 1) doesn't seem to earn it and 2) plays a position in which we have many cheap options to replace him with. Just bad. Trading him would honestly be ideal.

I would love to trade Tang for even a mid 1st round pick right now .

I don't think it is. Scott Gomez was traded in the middle of that terrible deal Sather signed him too. I'd trade him for the salary relief, half decent third liner, and a prospect.

Hmm, who would be stupid enough to pick up Tang's contract?

Hey Flyers, don't you guys need a puck moving dman?

Hey Rangers, how about a dman to run the point on the power play?

Oilers? Flames?

Oilers would be the team I'd look to the most. I'm up for moving him, but not in the division. We all know that would be bad news bears. The Oil would love a big name defenseman who has offensive flair, puck movement abilities. And they have a plethora of offensive players they could ship. Too bad Yak has mental issues. Though I think he and Geno could be a good thing.

No thanks, guy is not good on defense at all. Honestly, IMO, he is a forward playing defense. Hell of a puck mover and good on the PP, but the defensive side of the game scares me.

Tang to the Flyers for Wayne Simmonds & a 2nd round draft pick seems fair to me.

They would love Letang in Edmonton, he would be Paul Coffey v2.0

Simmonds is signed on an amazing deal for the next 5+ years, they wont move him and don't blame them.

Fine, we'll trade Tang for Simmonds & Pronger's contract. I would rather take up Pronger's contract at this point than hold on to Tang's.

Hah...if only. He shows those moments, for certain. I do know that Edmonton was probably the most constant name in the trade rumors before Letang signed.

Future of the Pens blue line should look like this,

Dumoulin - Maatta
Despres - Pouliot
Samuelsson - Harrington

Reserves: Bortuzzo, Ruopp

Oh yeah it is possible but that is the type of the deal most GM's (i stress most) will look at to not make a deal for Letang.

Still think the sell high on him was the end of last season but we all know that wasn't happening.

He's a great player IMO, but the contract is ridiculous.

I agree, but doubt anybody else will take it. Listen, if he stayed healthy and he actually was halfway decent on D, I wouldn't mind the Rangers taking a shot at him.
