It is the norm — most do contracts are structured this way, so they are paying less to start and it goes up.

Hell — the Raiders just gave Gruden a contract where he gets paid roughly 25 million over the 1st 5 years of his deal and 75 million the last 5 years of his deal.

Contracts are front loaded, some are back loaded, some gradually increase, some gradually decrease. It is all based on what is agreed upon. Doesn’t mean they are taking a pay cut if they front load the contract.

Yeah but it's the safest play for Iowa and you know a couple of times a decade he is going to pull of a great season; relatively
