Let's just leave it at you have a very glowing view of your team.

I don't think it's grounded in reality or fact, but I'm not going to change your mind about it and I'm fine with that.

You have a very dull view of my team. Reality is probably about halfway between.

You're probably right about the Wings not making it past the second round of the playoffs, because defense wins playoff games in the NHL these days and the Wings cannot match the defensive corps of teams like MON and NYR (assuming full strength), but if the Wings are at near-full strength themselves (for once) and playing to their potential, they are very capable of making a very deep playoff run.

I think they've got a better team this year than last year, they've just gotta put it all together.

I may have to start referring to Dylan Larkin as "Young Crosby" once January rolls around and he's stuck on 10 points and people start asking why a year of his ELC was burned.

Have you been watching any of the games? Larkin and Zetterberg are the only guys on the roster who have been consistently creating scoring chances. I foresee no reasonable scenario where organizational administrator or fan regrets having Larkin in the lineup; alternatively, I could see outrage from sending him down to Grand Rapids - even if he goes on a scoring slump.

Yep, no other rookie has had a hot start and regressed as the season's gone on, let alone a 19 year old.

Just like I'm sure Abdelkader, Helm and Sheahan, all in their mid-to-late 20's and with one 20 goal season amongst them combined, are all capable of 20 goal seasons. Ditto for Brad Richards, who had 12 last year playing for the Cup champs, and Franzen, who's currently trying to answer a banana.

Wait? Pulkinnen looks like Stamkos or Ovechkin but Zetts and Larkin are the only two creating chances?

A little consistency, along with at least a modicum of objectivity, would be nice. On one hand you talk about how the ice is tipped against the Wings goalies, negatively skewing their stats; on the other you boldly state that the team can beat anybody in a seven game series. It just doesn't really seem to make much sense.

The key word I used was capable. I was citing scoring punch potential, not what I predict will happen.

Sheahan played his first full season with the Wings last year and potted 13. There's no reason to assume he can't hit 20 a few times in his career.

Abdelkader, as long as he's playing on the top two scoring lines, can hit 20 as he proved last year. He pitched in with 10's in previous seasons primarily because his role on the team was a 3rd line grinder and PK specialist.

Helm has built more offense into his game the past couple years as well. He is still in primarily a 3rd line role, though, and he's injury prone, so I'm not so sure he'll ever hit 20, but the capability does exist.

Brad Richards has had nine 20-goal seasons in his career. He probably won't hit 20 this year, but he still knows how to put the puck in the net as does Franzen if he ever plays.

Again, you were suggesting the Wings have a lack of scoring punch. I counter with the suggestion that they have 11 forwards on the roster capable of potting 20 goals.

Now here's what I actually said:

Pulkkinen has a one-timer that looks like Stamkos or Ovechkin

The kid has played a grand total of 43 NHL games. He's still developing. There's great potential - maybe not quite as great as Stamkos or Ovechkin, but he's got the potential to be a legitimate feared NHL sniper capable of 30+ goal seasons.

Now here's what I actually said:

Larkin and Zetterberg are the only guys on the roster who have been consistently creating scoring chances.

Creating chances doesn't mean potting goals, it means making plays that set up scoring chance opportunities. Larkin and Zetterberg are the only two Wings who have continued to consistently make plays that lead to scoring chances throughout this ugly run of games.

Right now, early in the season, the ice has been severely tipped against the Wings' goalies. Both Howard and Mrazek have had to stand on their heads to keep the Wings in games through this ugly run. Just because it's happening now, doesn't mean it will continue to happen April-June.

You guys keep citing what's happening now and in the past as if the landscape of the Wings and the league will be the same come April. I'm saying there's great potential with the Wings roster come April despite the recent struggles.

OK. You got me. The Wings are gonna score 410 goals a season in the near future.

I am potentially capable of killing someone today.

I won't but I am definitely potentially capable of it.

Hahaha.

I'd put NYC way above em all, even if it's lost a lot of its soul the past decade+. I just love everything about it.

I have only been there once, it wasn't that bad. Montreal and Ottawa where a lot nicer.

Ottawa's nicer, maybe, but is just more manageable. Montreal is a lot more fun and interesting.

Toronto is nice enough, I just don't find much about it that makes me really like it as a city. I don't see much uniqueness about it like I do with other really big cities like Chicago or New York. Just my opinion though.

Common opinion. And understandable.

Isn't much to do here from a tourists' perspective. Living here is fine but if you come in blind it's probably tough to find a lot of great things to do which isn't the case in the cities you mentioned.

TBH, only city I've ever gone to and been bored as all fuck was Boston. Even Detroit and Buffalo I manage to find things to do.
