Anyway, seems like your run of the mill assassin movie. Meh. That'll be a straight to stream for me.

Black Widow definitely was in "sparrow school": it was called the Red Room, and the comics cover a lot of her time there. Black Widow is actually one of many Black Widows who got the same training as her. Also, the Black Widow solo comics (as opposed to the comics wherein she appears as part of a superhero team) are all spy thrillers.

Red Room doesn't sound much like how Sparrow School was in the book. Sparrow school is all about seduction and sex and it doesn't look like Red Room is just about that. It may include that, but it has a little bit of a more supernatural spin to it.

In Red Sparrow, the agent is not really trained in hand to hand combat as you can see in the trailer where she is more a loose cannon when she kills the dude in the shower. It's all about getting secrets out of people by seducing them and gaining their trust, nothing more. The school essentially fucks with her head until she turns to aide the Americans (possible spoiler)

I mean, it's still basically the same thing. Pretty much everything there is Black Widow-esque, just at a lower combat level.

Huh, had no idea it was Morgan writing the source material. That's the same guy who wrote the books the upcoming netflix 'Altered Carbon' is based on.
