The pitching matchups seem to favor the Red Sox. This could be the first Series the Dodgers lose in a long, long time.

But, the Dodgers have surprised us all season, so we'll see what happens.

Losing to Lester is a lot more likely than losing to Peavy.

Lester will probably win some Cy Young Awards before he's through. Peavy would need
multiple miracles to get one.

Hopefully we can at least take 2 of 3 from the Sox this weekend, we're definitely going to need the bats this weekend.

I agree this is going to be a great series i'm ok with 2 out of 3...I would like to see Puig get his head back in the game...too much distraction was going on with him in Miami

Don't know why your so down on Capuano. His K/BB ratio for the season is better than his career ratio.
But then I haven't watched any of his games this year. If he pitches better in non-clutch situations than in
clutch ones I wouldn't know about that.

Lester pitches well ALL the time and is healthier this year than he was last.

Has Lester's scheduled opposing starter, Hyun-Jin Ryu, faced any AL teams in AL parks yet?

Some websurfing I just did tells me he's a rookie, and my Red Sox are a very good bet to punish rookie mistakes.
So with all due respect I still say Ryu's more likely to lose to us than Capuano.

Maybe not this year, but I've been watching him longer than you probably have.

He is, a the very least, more likely to win one than any of our other starters.

You're entitled to your opinion, and when healthy Buchholz would be 2nd
on my own list, but he's still behind Lester.

Lester's a lefty who is not bothered by Fenway Park at all. Fenway, as you should know, can be death and taxes on lefty pitchers.

BTW, it's "Buchholz" with 2 hs. It's a german spelling that confuses english speakers, myself
included, frequently.

Eh, Lester has been very average the last 2 years, his run of the ace is over, Buchholtz on the other hand I could see competing for a Cy Young in the near future

Even though Ryu is only a rookie, he is far superior to Capuano. Ryun is dominating at home, also. Ryu is a good bet to beat the Red Sox. Capuano beating the Red Sox would be a minor miracle. That's why Capuano won't be starting any games in the playoffs.

Lester did have some injury problems last year, but I can assure you those were made worse
by Bobby Valentine's unbelievable idiocy when it comes to the timing of lifting pitchers.

In 40+ years of following baseball I have NEVER, EVER, seen a manager as clueless about handling
pitchers as Not-My-Valentine was. He wasn't much better at the other parts of managing either.

How he got, or held on, to the job I have no idea, unless he was All-World at kissing front office posterior.

Ryu may be having good year, but he is still a rookie, and my Red Sox will PUNISH rookie mistakes severely.
