Rather see Albert break Bonds' record than Arod. Besides Albert's appearance, as far as I know there isn't a trace of steroid stink on him. I think you have to at least give him the innocent until guilty treatment.

You can't be serious, cereal.

Now Goodell is saying there is not timeline to decide on Tom Brady's appeal. Didn't think clown say about 2 weeks ago that a decision was "coming soon."?

did you catch that expose on your gm on espn last week.....aka "how to blow up a promising team in 10 easy steps"
While I understood the point of the article showing some trades that look bad now because the team has underperformed, there are some problems with it.
As far as what they gave up: There was absolutely no reason to believe that guys like Maybin and Grandal would go from disappointing in SD for years to being an all star and a quality CFer. Losing Joe Ross and Turner will suck because I expect great things from them, but prospects(especially Padre prospects) don't always turn out to be as good as the team hopes they'd be. Bottom line is the overall team they put on the field in 2014 had a historically bad offense and it probably would have been just as bad this year without the trades they made.

As far as who they got: Nobody could have predicted Shields to be as inconsistent as he's been so far, Cashner and Ross to have the struggles they had up until the last month or so, Kimbrel to have a horrible first 2 months, Kemp to have 1 HR through the end of May and have a very bad season up until July where he's hitting over .300 with power, Upton and Norris to both have major struggles since June 1st, Myers to be out most of the year, and Gyorko not improve on his horrible 2014. There were obviously flaws for this team going in like the lack of LH bats in the lineup, high level of strikeouts for the offense, and the defense in general, but he put together a team that was good enough to compete and it just hasn't worked out so far. There was nothing "promising" about the Padres before the trades outside of a couple prospects and the pitching which is pretty much still there. And despite all the problems and fire sale talk, they're only 6 games out of a WC spot and while it'll take more than one 5 game win streak to make me believe they're postseason contenders, the season is far from over.

Brian Johnson making his debut tonight. Shaky first two innings (three walks and a run), but he's retired eight in a row.

Welp... Cherington and Company your skills at getting starting pitchers SUCKS!!! Trade everyone they are all bums!

Swept by the Angels and wow last night was terrible!

Rodriguez has had 7 good starts and 3 bad ones. He has been tipping his pitches and reverted to doing so last night after they supposedly corrected it.
