Great vid... Seriously, he's about the only thing i'm excited about... He's definitely a great defender who has the potential to hit around .270 while stealing a large amount of bases... Definitely the type of leadoff hitter we've been missing...

Me too. I am also rooting for O'Malley. Like his grit and versatility.

I am digging O'Malley as well.... He is like a new Willie Bloomquist. He can play anywhere on the field.

O'Malley and Marte also share a common skill set offensively which is get on base, something we are not used to being Mariner fans.

Cano bound to breakout in 2016.

Seems like he has really rebounded from that slump.

Once they were out of it in July he really started hitting. Nothing to gleam from that for me.

Man, typical Mariners. Too little too late. I think they'll finish off .500. Hopefully the new GM gets the bullpen help we need and add another bat and we'll finally get back into the playoffs.

Once they got Edgar aboard a lot of guys completely turned around. Shit happens. He's been great ever since Edgar assumed duties.

He has been good since break because law of averages dictates that for a player of his talent. Edgar does not do miracles. Edgar did not do a miracle. Love Edgar, but it was just a matter of time that all the proven players were due to turn it around. That is why the timing of the hiring happened. A real measure of a hitting coach is one that takes shitty hitters (Zunino, Ackley, etc for examples) and makes them legit hitters.

It is fun to think Edgar walked on water, but timing is everything.

Johnson was teaching guys to try to pull everything which is stupid. It's not that Edgar walks on water, it's that Johnson was ruining batters. He sucked at his job. When Edgar came aboard hitters started trying to use the whole field again.

not just another bat but a quality all around player that fits in with teams needs. Too many one dimensional players on the team/ organization. I think one of Jack Z's biggest mistakes throughout his tenure (among other things) was failure to identify the necessary skill set of players he needed to create a successful all around team.

So yeah I think adding a bat is a good idea as long as its the right bat and more specifically I think a good outfielder would be ideal.

Have to disagree. I doubt any hitting coach in modern baseball teaches against using the whole field. It may have seemed that way by what we see when our lousy hitters continually do it, but doubt it is taught. I heard for myself several times Blowers and Sims say coaches wanted Zunino to go opposite field but he kept pulling it. Then he did the first 2 weeks of Edgar's hiring then right back again to pulling.

Go Edgar!
