Well, that moves him up 2 or 3 places, but still amazing.
Best game of his career. Absolutely dominant. Hate to see him give up the homer just one out shy of a CG shutout.

Looks like Dane has the 9th best ERA among qualifiers just ahead of Gerrit Cole.

Glad to see Josh Smith get a hit tonight after a 25 day 0 for 9 journey.

Dane's now started ten games, pitched sixty innings with an ERA of 3.00, a 1.18 WHIP and opponent batting average of .247.

Dunning (2.69 ERA), Eovaldi (2.82 ERA) and Gray (2.89 ERA) all pitching like Aces, plus a resurgent Martin Perez all bode very well for this team's chances of making a deep playoff run. A lot to be excited about!

Now here's hoping Bradford goes out and has a very nice game. Something like six innings, three runs allowed on five hits, two walks, a handful of strikeouts.
Scratch that. Didn't realize it's been two weeks since his last start. Four innings, two runs off of three hits?

I kind of think he walks no one

Looking beyond this game, I'm hoping a guy like Bradford or Otto (more likely) can take the #5 starting spot from Heaney.
Seems every other start
from Heaney is a blowout loss, and his command is all over the place.

Is there anything that compares? I wish I could say there is, but the Hamels and Darvish trades were massive whiffs. We got nothing out of those deals.

That happens, sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't, nothing is a sure thing...

Of our 5 All-Star nominees only Garcia is trailing in the voting. Even Judge is ahead of him

And Judge can't play so they'll end up picking someone to take his place...

Otto had a very nice finish to last year - last twelve starts had an ERA around 3.80 and really cut the walks down nicely.

Otto is having a good rehab in RR and should be back right after the ASB. He's been starting with it seems a pitch limit of about 60 pitches for the moment...
