DE was a draft priority before Quinn got traded, so it has to be one of the top priorities now.

And, if evaluator are correct, this isn't a deep DE draft so they may need to grab one first

Maybe the Rams will take Retro's guy Hercules as a mid/late round project.

Essentially, the Rams move up in the 4th and 6th rounds by doing this trade. The Fins 4th rounder is earlier than the Rams 4th rounder was.

But, if they can only get a 4th for Quinn, there is no way they are getting anything for Austin.

Both Austin and Quinn were never the same once they got paid. Hate to see the Rams pay so much for Austin this year off the roster, but he had no value and was due that $5M roster bonus coming up soon.

These moves should clear the cap necessary to sign Donald, Joyner and Watkins...

With Peters, we should also shed the Johnson tag, which could make us a player in FA for a talented LB to replace Quinn.

This means we are going after basically the defense in the draft and the D-line, LB, and corner will be the focus. We pick up a center or LT, maybe.

BattleLyon is right. Barron is def gone and Barwin may come back on teh cheap. Good moves so far and McVay is really assembling HIS team.

IF we could get Vea and one of the many speed/edge rushers in this year's draft, I'd be on the floor half conscious!

This also means that CB Nikel Robey-Coleman may be re-signed as well. Tru may be re-signed if he agrees to sign for less than the tag and Snead and McVay have expressed interest. Webster is history after is achilles rehab. He may return on the cheap because of the injury.

Snead and McVay are really developing into a pretty shrewed duo primarily because McVay has all the smarts. Snead is just the paid assistant at this juncture. Afterall, we can all recount some of Snead's blunders under the drama queen's direction. The little turd being the most blantant!!

We get value picks in the fourth and the many sixth round picks we have. This was another shrewd move ala Belicheat and the Patriots. McVay is really assembling a powerhouse on both sides of the ball.

It is obvious and has already been mentioned that we don't have the assests to contend to get Vea, so here are some suggestions that will help re-tool our defense this draft. I really like the DE Bryan and NT Settle suggestions.

How to Retool the Los Angeles Rams Defense: Defensive Line

I have a feeling we might go center if one of the top 2 guys drop to us.... Sullivan is a FA, and Mcvay does love solid o-lineman...

I know you're big on Vita Vea Retro, but I'm just not sold. I think he will have a decent career as a pro, just unsure if he has continued success at the next level. (Watched a lot of Vea as the resident PAC 12 guy)
