A published report Tuesday said that a deal has been finalized that would allow Penn State to open its 2014 football season in Ireland against Central Florida.

Hey since we don't get a bowl game this would be second best for the team and recruits. OB could sell recruits that they would be playing in Ireland. Lot's of players get to go to bowl games but few get to ever play overseas.

Is this a first for college football? IMO, a great idea.

No Notre Dame played Navy last season in the Emerald Isle Classic, which was a successful event and resulted in a packed Aviva Stadium of 48,820 fans in Dublin, Ireland.

The NCAA allows football programs to take a big trip every 4 years right? Anybody know if this counts as that trip with a game is involved, and if run-ons can participate?
