In the end the non call was correct, but with the amount of time it took to overturn I was shocked they did so. As for uncatchable the ball was 100% catchable. At the time of the court decision, there were too many red flags with the judge & his ruling. The only question I have is will Brady continue to appeal or just accept his fate?

The loser has options.

1) They can go "en banc" hearing at the 2nd circuit, meaning that all the judges in that 2nd circuit sit and hear the case.

2) they do their "Petition for writ of certiorari" which is simply the formal way of asking the SCOTUS to take a look at it. I find this to be highly unlikely. They take so few cases and this seems unlikely to be one of them.

No matter who wins, I would expect this ends after this current appeal, hearing and decision.

You do understand an "Uncatchable Ball" is a ball the receiver has no chance of touching don't you? Besides I've seen balls caught by reciver in that same senerio where the receiver simply reached around and caught the ball off the defenders back. In no way was that play an uncatchable ball.

While it may not be the job of an appeals court to rehear a case, if they don't come up with a better explaination of how someone gets called "the deflator" because he lost weight, I think Brady loses.

I know we're all sick of this story, but if a player or team gets caught trying to rig games or trying to cheat somehow and they get busted I think the fans win in the long run. In theory it should make the league better if everyone is playing by the rules, and harsh fines and penalties should discourage anyone from trying to get an advantage of any type that isn't fair.

Regardless of who "wins" the fan is already the loser in this thing. From the beginning the league was idiotic for coming down with a such a huge penalty that was completely out of line with the infraction committed. The Pats proved they have no accountability and could care less about the fans by fighting this in the first place instead of just admitting to what they did and now the league too is proving they could care less about the fan by not letting this die. It stopped being about the truth and became all about "winning" about 30,000 articles ago...

What I hate is the argument that everyone cheats and you ain't trying if you aren't cheating, that everyone is just bending the rules and getting every advantage, as that's their job. Come on, if you're caught and you're guilty, you get punished. I know that it incentivizes not getting caught, but no shit, right? You always have the incentive to not get caught. And when you do, you should get punished for that and all the efforts to not get caught. If that's a problem, don't cheat, or find better ways to catch others cheating. Some things are subjective and the punishment should be relative and the vitriol can be too much, but the generality of the defense of everybody's doing it and they were just so competitive doesn't do it for me.
