Would you go get him if he is available? Any gas left in the tank? Or is the bloom off the rose?

At this point I would take Archie Manning! Even at 75% Manning is 100% better than anything we have. Would allow for time to find and groom a QB of the future. Problem is that he is not a UFA until 2017. Not sure why he would want out of Denver but if Denver would not want a crazy return, may as well kick the tires.

chy1127, you forget one MAJOR problem. Manning is even LESS mobile than Bradford is, even when he is 100% healthy. Unless we make a MAJOR upgrade to the offensive line, no QB will succeed here. That said, I will take my chances with a fully healed Bradford. I still think he came back waaaaaay too soon from the first tear. He should have not seen a practice field until the regular season started and then he should not have played until after the bye week. I think if they would have done things like that, Bradford would have played 13 games completely healthy.

Peyton Manning is done and if he's not done, he's not playing for STL.

But I think he's done.

Haven't we learned from signing older Vets on their way down?

Jake Long is the most recent. We already have a problem with one guy who's value is questionable consuming huge amounts of money. Manning's salary is more of the same and for a guy just like Jake Long. On the way down. No, we need to select some young, very good QB's in this year's draft.

The more I am thinking about it, assuming Snead does what he ALWAYS does and trades down from #10 in round 1 (and maybe even from #8 in round 2) and gobbles up picks, wouldn't it be nice to snag Petty in round 2 or 3 and ALSO grab someone like Grayson or Mannion or Kevin Hogan in say round 5??Imagine the QB competition.

Only problem with projecting that is that first-pick.com totally downgrades your draft when you go after two QB's. I suppose I could just not worry about the score so damn much and just do a projection!! :pound:

....I'm sure Peyton's next location (unless he retires) will/should be a dome-stadium,......I think he'd be a great fit in LA........err........st. Louis.....!

Even if Manning would be interested in coming to St. Louis, why would we want him? He's already proven time and time again that he's a choker when the playoffs roll around. Sure, he might have the best stats in history for the regular season.

I guess the fan-base is so starved for even a winning record or playoff berth that some would be willing to take this guy, but for what.....to reach the playoffs and then be promptly drummed out and then get an even lower draft pick than we already have? What's the point? Wouldn't want him even from 3-4 years ago. The epitome of a choker. Probably holds hands with Bradford in the off-season.

Let's see how did picking up Namath, Bartkowski, Hadl, and Pastorini work out for us!

Nooooooooooooooooooooo! That would just be DUMB

Agree with Retro and ksu. See my post on the Mariota thread.

ksu - don't worry about first pick .com. Although I'm sure they gave the Redskins an F for drafting RG3 and Kirk Cousins!!!

The odds of Peyton being a Ram are very small. But if he was available yeah I would take him. He hasn't always played with great o-lines. And he is an OC all on his own. So 75% of one of the best is pretty dam good. :suds:

None of these guys were ever as good as Peyton. In addition, I did like John Hadl. Lastly, how can we not point out our 33 year old rookie QB, Dieter Brock.

We actually got some very good years out of John Hadl.

The other 3 were basically pretty boys for our Stripper/Owner to parade around on her arm. Bert Jones would be the 4th in that group of FAILS!!!!!
