Up for this week,

Tuesday, Nov 18: @ Montreal Canadiens
Friday, Nov 21: vs New York Islanders
Saturday, Nov 22: @ New York Islanders

Montreal Canadiens have the most points out of anyone in the league and come into this game riding a 6 game win streak, very important to get the lead early against these guys. They're undefeated when leading after the 1st.

New York Islanders are 2nd place in the Metropolitan Division and trail us by only 3 points. Very important to win this home & home series.

Will be a tough week for the Pens.

Series notes
All-time: Canadiens lead series 117-53-5 with 23 ties
Last season: Canadiens won series 2-1-0
Last meeting: 2-27-2014 @ CONSOL Energy Center, Canadiens won 6-5 in a shootout

Doob's take: The Montreal Canadiens are coming into this game leading the league in points (29) and winners of 6 straight. Pens are coming into this game leading the league in point percentage (.781) and have won 8 of their last 10. Very important to get ahead of the Canadiens early, they're undefeated when leading after the 1st and 2nd periods, so coming from behind isn't a good way to win games when facing this team. Doob picks the Pens to win 4-3.

LET'S GO PENS!

Hope you're right Doobster. I'd like to see Therrien get mad a couple times during the game. He's always fun to watch.

No it's not, especially with Maatta being out. Might be a bit underhanded this week facing some really potent offenses.

Small upside to the Dupuis thing: Bennett should get a shot in the top six, and if he does well, Comeau should be the one displaced when Dupuis returns.

So no Maatta, no Letang, no Dupuis, :L

I'm changing my prediction from 4-3 Pens to 4-2 Habs :L

How come the Lightning had such an easy time with the Rangers while we struggled so bad? Stuff like that makes me wonder about this team. Seems like we struggle with mediocre teams a bit too much. If the Rangers give us so many problems imagine what the Habs will do to us tonight. Tonight's game will likely be a learning lesson for a Pens.

Really all I hope for tonight is for Sid to get out of his funk. Score a point or 2, ya know?

The Pens website has Maatta as a game time decision. And as far as I know, Letang is expected to be in the lineup tonight. He was cut around the eye in practice yesterday, and needed some stitches, but he isn't expected to miss any time.

Dupuis isn't on the trip, and here was the line combo's from yesterday's skate:

Kunitz-Crosby-Comeau
Spaling-Malkin-Hornqvist
Bennett-Sutter-Downie
Sill-Goc-Adams

Have faith Doob :suds:

How are both Spaling and Comeau ahead of Bennett for top six minutes? Are they still just waiting on Bennett to get his timing and conditioning back up before they put him up there? Or do they just really like how he plays with Sutter (they do, admittedly, often look pretty good together)?

:noidea:

I haven't really noticed Bennett at all since he's comeback.

I have. He's been the best puck position player on the third line, good in the neural zone, fairly physical. He's smart, and you can see it in his play. He puts himself in good spots to make plays, or at the very least to disrupt the opposition.

Really? Not sure how you could miss him, he plays with a patience on offense that no one else on the team possesses.

I just see him dumping the puck into the zone.
