Yeah. Me too. Shocking. I bet Andrew Luck got in there and fought for him.

I googled Pagano and this was within the first few rows of results. I dunno why this is relevant or useful, but I felt necessary to post it.

Pags and the GM were at odds so they must have solved their differences or he would have walked.
He would have had a HC job by tomorrow if he did....
They almost pulled the Cleveland act ....Irsay must've sobered up for a day or 2...:dhd:

Good. I am glad, Pagano I think is a good coach who was hindered with injuries to his roster this year. He's done a great job with the Colts, and to top it off he is a great guy.

No chance - if he had, he would have fired Grigson.....

My guess is that the owner floated enough information around the football world and understood he wasn't going to be able to entice the coach he wanted to come to the NFL.

IMO this was Pagano's job unless Saban wanted it. When Irsay heard Saban didn't want it, it was back to negotiating out a deal with Pagano.

Maybe he's so drugged out it's like weekend at bernies with him at this point.

They had the chance to pick a coach and entice any of their favorites with Andrew Luck and they kept the same guy? When are you going to fire him now? This was the time to do it. Missed the playoffs in a terrible division when the other team didn't have their QB either.

Could be some truth there, but doubtful Saban would even entertain anything until next Tuesday. If Saban wins another NC...I can see him being interested in the NFL again...with an established QB. He's moving on up there mid 60s maybe....if it doesn't happen soon, I can see him retiring from Bama after one more run.

Yeah I thought that was the word on the street too. I guess you can't really give him too much of the blame when the star QB is out most of the year. Probably a wise move long-term for the organization but I'd imagine he is on a short leash if there's a repeat performance next year.

He's only still there because the deal for Sean Payton (Peyton?) fell through.

I like it. This is the #1 stupid move of 2016. Granted it's early. More chances for the Pats to keep abusing the shameless Colts.
