Yes. The only time a team ever went for 2 in the first half of an overtime period when they didn't have to was Boston College against Miami in 1997, and they lost.

To me going second in OT seems like a bigger advantage was than when they had sudden death OT in the NFL. I wish they'd at least move it back another 10 yards so the FG wasn't such a gi-me.

Of current FBS teams, both UConn and Nevada have played 17. That includes some games as I-AA teams, though.

As and FBS/I-A team, Missouri has played 16, more than anybody else, and have 11 wins, which is more than anyone, including UConn and Nevada.

To me going second in OT seems like a bigger advantage was than when they had sudden death OT in the NFL. I wish they'd at least move it back another 10 yards so the FG wasn't such a gi-me.

For years, the NFL coin toss winner won no more than 52% of their games. As the West Coast offense developed, though, that ballooned up. A case for the NFL being a fairer system could have been made in the old NFL.
