Raonic has shown he can beat Murray before, and I thought he looked pretty good against him in the Aussie open semis. His confidence will be at an all-time high. It will be interesting to see how nerves affect him - I wonder what the record is for first time finalists?

Milos will need to stay aggressive and keep the points short, I think Andy Murray is the guy with best movement on tour (yes, even better than Joker) and he will want to make the match as physically draining as possible.

That's the one reason I was optimistic for Milos v. federer. Because federer is getting up there and came off a tough 5 set match.
Was hoping Murray would have a gruelling SF as well to soften him up a bit.

Murray playing really well and Raonic nervous. Long match, but Raonic needs to find his confidence.

Raonic gave way two easy points in that tiebreaker. I think Murray's ability to stay in rallies is getting to Milos. He's not putting away easy points and he's rattled.

Monumental task now. At the very least I'd like to see some of the fire he showed against Feds and Goffin. Win a set and let Murray get in his own head.

This has been the closest set and it's still heavily skewed toward Murray. Gotta get to that tiebreak Milos.

That was domination. Murray was toying with Milos at times.

If Milos wants any consolation, Murray did Djok pretty badly three years ago too.

Pros: Only got broken once. Got to two tiebreakers. If you'd told me before the match that Raonic would take 2 of the first 3 sets to a tiebreaker, I would have been elated.

Cons: Didn't bring his "A" game. He'll regret that, especially if it takes a while to get back to a major final. Murray was playing really well, but there were opportunities there for Raonic to at least force a fourth. If he'd played like he did against Federer, he had a shot.

Bottom line, I think experience (for Murray) and nerves (for Raonic) were the biggest factor. Murray probably wins anyway, but that was the difference between a straight sets victory, and maybe Raonic giving Murray fits. You could especially see it in the tiebreakers - Murray upped his game, while Raonic was visibly nervous, missing easy shots (in the 2nd set TB) and flubbing a few (in the 3rd set TB).

Ultimately, it's still a step in the right direction. He's playing well, and if he can stay healthy, should be a contender for the next few years at all but the French open.

Raonic didn't do it this time but he'll have his day yet. Great to see a Canadian do so well at Wimbledon.

Genie needed to go three sets (and a tie-breaker to boot in set 3), but she advanced in Montreal to the 2nd round.
