OT - The Starwars movies

So, if you are going to make a day of watching them all, which order do you watch them in?

as they were made, or as they are numbered.

I'd watch them 1-6 having seen them already. If it were my first time though, I'd watch them 4-6 then 1-3.

My vote was swayed due to the fact that after 4 and 5, the whole series went downhill in a big way (Ewoks were bad enough, but Jar Jar Binks is one of the most annoying movie characters of all time).

I can watch Star Wars and Empire whenever they are on. Return of the Jedi, at times too. As bad as some of it was (Ewok dance!) there is enough good stuff to make it worthwhile.

I dont care if I never see the most recent three again.

I agree with you there. If I were to watch all the movies in one day, I would go 1-6

If you cut out jar jar and the horribly acted, forced, insensible "love" scenes between Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen, the first 2 movies aren't all terrible.

You get to see Yoda flying around in the 2nd film. That alone was worth the price of admission.

My favorite Wierd Al song. I was actually at a bonfire with my guitar a few weeks ago and someone asked me to play American Pie. I told her I can play it but don't know all the words but that I knew all the words to the Wierd Al version. That drew some funny looks as well but a few signs of appreciation.

I sat next to Hayden and his brother (I think) at a Kings Wings game. He was a pretty nice guy.

Before you read this: Please don't judge me... I'm just sharing my story because people asked...

Wow... okay, I wasn't sure if I was ever going to tell anyone about this, but it's late and I'm sleep deprived so i guess I'll just write it now and regret it in the morning :/

First of all, - just for some background: My mom died right when I was born, (she was actually really, really hot- but this isn't about her. I guess that's ****ed up to say, but whatever.) I actually grew up with my dad's family, because my dad has all sorts of emotional issues and he bailed before I was born. So you can see, my childhood was really kind of messed up.

Anyways, growing up I feel like there was always a lot of distance between me and my sister. When I was about 17 or 18 I first noticed that my sister was a hottie.

I don't want to go into to many details about it, but basically what happened is that I accidentally found a video that she made of herself. I knew she didn't make it for me- but I thought she was so ****ing beautiful that I watched it twice. (probably would have watched it a hell of a lot more, except that like right around the time I found the video, all this crazy **** went down and I had to leave home. (My dad's family who I was staying with got in bad trouble with the law. I never talk about it).

Sooo... I was totally lusting after my sister at that point. She was also having bad trouble with the law. She was actually in custody when I left home.

My friend and I went to go pick her up. When I saw her that day, after seeing the video, I have to be honest, I just wanted to **** her brains out. Looking back on it now, it's pretty messed up- but I think she had feelings for me too. She actually kissed me right after we came to get her... and it wasn't a sisterly kiss, you know? I mean, it wasn't like ridiculously sexual or anything, but it definitely wasn't sisterly.

After we left, we all went to crash with my Sister's friends. On the trip there, my friend sort of implied that he wanted to get with my Sister, and I got a little jealous. He's a good looking guy- and even though she was my sister- I just felt like he was competition. Not much else happened between us for a while except some maybe-sexy hugging.

Pretty much everyone in my life at that point was wanted by the government, so we all moved around a lot. I'm not saying that I'm proud of it or anything, but it was kind of an awesome time.

My friend and my sister never hooked up I don't think- but I thought there was some serious sexual tension going on between them. It was around that time that I got really badly hurt in an accident. It was ****ed up. I almost died. But when I was in recovery my sister came to see me, and out of the clear blue sky she started gives me this awesome, slow, passionate kiss on the lips.

Sadly (although, I guess for the best) nothing ever came of it. We spent some time apart... and I started to get really religious, so I tried not to think of her that way. It was actually going well for a long time- like I was totally over her. But I have to say, like a year or so after all that stuff went down, we were out sailing (not like a date or anything romantic like that), and she was wearing like the hottest bikini I've ever ****ing seen and it brought back all the old feelings. Sigh.

A little while later she actually wound up with my friend from before (the sexual tension guy). I can't say I was surprised.

But even after she was shacking up with my friend, there was one time we were at a party... my friend was inside, and my sister and I were outside alone. It was a really intimate moment. I think something might have happened, except that I killed the mood when I told her that Darth Vader was our father and that I had to go face him.

I'm not sure which order I would watch them in but I really like episodes 3-6. Episode 1 was tolerable. 2 was mostly painful to watch other than finally seeing Yoda in his Jedi combat action debut.

The Ewoks didn't do much for me but they didn't ruin ROTJ for me either. And c'mon Jabba, Bobo Fet, the Emporer etc. more than made up for the Ewoks.

I thought Revenge of the Sith gets unfairly lumped together with the other not so good prequels. In my opinion, it was so much better than the other 2 its not even funny. Seeing Anikan go from annoying pretty-boy to Darth Vader was pretty cool. One thing that could have made that movie better would have been a scene where a young Han Solo meets Chewy. I'm thinking maybe Jar Jar is annoying Han so Chewy arrives on the scene and rips him to pieces. I always like to just assume this happened but was left out of the movie.

I like Ewan and Liam in episode one, dont think there is much else I liked. Far too much kid stuff which is typical Lucas stuff nowadays. The race was painful and scientifically explaining the force was stupid. This movie really sucks in my opinion. Aww Darth Vader made C3PO how adorable and not stupid at all! </sarcasm>

In two Hayden was awful and all his and Portmans dialogue was terrible. This too is typical in Lucas's work nowadays. Yoda's scenes were fun and when Portmans outfit got tore it was nice but I liked little else. It is better than episode 1 IMO.

In three Anakin was basically the emperors bitch which to me basically took one of the great cinema villains and turned him into a weak pawn. Its probably the best in the more recent three, but I still dont like it.

I dont even think the effects are anything special in the recent three, in fact at times I think they are awful.

I cannot see Lucas ever letting anyone else make any Star Wars movies, but thats the only way I ever see any good Star Wars (or Indiana Jones) movies being made.

Just generally, I think people complain about the NEWER 3 movies too much. The originals had such a lore to them that there was no chance the new movies were ever going to live up to it. Additionally, in the story line of the whole 6 movies, the last 3 are where we see the climax. The new 3 have a lot of rising action, which is just not the most entertaining part of the story.

I thought 1 was a little blah, but again lots of rising action. I thought 2 was really fun and I think 3 was on par with the original movies.

But like I said, for most fans, they didn't have much of a chance before they were even released.
