Target's earnings came out this morning and they said the data breach only shaved a couple of pennies of their EPS - their stock shot up 8% on the news. They will survive.

One group of people I've spoken to this morning who are rather nervous?

Target Canada to open downtown anchor store in 2016 | Toronto Star

When they say the retail component of this building is huge, they aren't kidding. And they have already made about 200 changes to the layout of the building to accommodate the tenant, who is no longer in business.

and speaking of empty boxes ... the Target metrotown location is CURSED i tells yah!!! ... Woodwards > Zellers > Target ... bring in the witchdoctor!!!

Southcore could probably use a CT, so that wouldn't be a surprise. Lord knows it doesn't need any more grocery stores. But some of the more suburban locations are all surrounded by all the Wallymarts and Crappys they need. Unless a company like Carrefour or Tescos decides to set up here, and I can't see that happening either, they'll just sit bare until someone demolishes them.

For the record, my company made a killing retrofitting all the old Zellers in Southern Ontario into Targets.

Yeah I would probably avoid that spot if I were a retailer. The Oakville Target location at Hopedale Mall was originally a K-Mart, then Zellers then Target. K-MART!

sound like a good idea ... but as is the case in this market, the condos would prob be scooped up by Chinese foreign investors looking for liquidity ...

and so the condo units will just sit there ...

Is that a serious problem out there? People thought that was happening here a lot, but a recent survey put total foreign ownership of condo units at 2.5% give or take.
