I gotta be honest, it's refreshing to see a guy like Zach Johnson win a major (obviously doesn't bomb it off the tee, but great with the irons and putter).

Like his game, dislike the scripture.

Surely the Lord won't interrupt the round of my life.

Why do they keep hosting the CO at Glen Abbey? The course is amateur hour.

Don't they have some of the best courses in Canada on Prince Edward Island? Show the Maritimes some love and host the Canadian Open on PEI one year?

Seriously, or even NS. I get the people are in Toronto and Montreal but you can count the number of challenging courses around those cities on one hand and have fingers left over.

Beats me. Toronto has numerous other more suitable venues. Hamilton Golf Club is probably the best tournament course in the rotation.

Most of the PEI courses aren't long enough. There are some, though, that could be setup for a PGA event. It's possible they are being omitted because they don't have the regional infrastructure to accommodate a large event like this. Not sure about that, but it's a real possibility.

Out of curiosity, I took a look at Cabot Links (ranked #2 in the Score Golf Canada top 100 rankings) - From the black tees, it's 6,854 yards but also a par 70. Some pretty healthy par 4's and a par 5 of 620 yards. Should be plenty tough enough for Eldrick to shoot 77 or higher :D

Best course in Toronto is probably The National in Woodbridge. Super private, one of those golden tickets around here that people who've played it brag about, but the yardage might be an issue (just a shade under 7000).

Still, they could change up Glen Abbey. I am an absolutely horrible golfer and when I played Glen Abbey two summers ago I shot about 100. That shouldn't be happening on a course hosting our national open.

The National is probably the best course in Canada. That said there is no way that it will host a Canadian Open until they allow female members, which they don't seem to want to. RBC and other sponsors will not touch that land mine with a ten yard pole.
