We had to print out our Fortran '77 code on dot matrix printers...Good times.
I wasted 3.5 years of tuition since I was hired on the one COBOL class I took during my last semester.

I took a COBOL class years after it was relevant. It was thought to be a good thing to learn when learning programming. Never used it, long forgotten. Don't program.

Oh wow COBOL, like the rest of you I took it in college for 2 semesters. Namely at the time in Pittsburgh US Steel was huge and had a need for COBOL programmers. Like the rest of you I forgot it right after I took the class as I never used it again.

Still have flashbacks about these things:

I went to Robert Morris that had a Healthcare IT track and at the time MUMPS ("M") programming language was huge. So naturally I took two semesters of that. And like COBOL never used it again.

When I had the MUMPS I developed a LISP.

RIP

Guy was absolutely hilarious in every interview I ever saw of him. There was one press junket where he apparently told the interviewer he used to be gay but he had to give it up because it made his eyes water.

Well if the way I felt overnight was any indication, the new Covid booster works great. Chills! Aches! Headaches!
4 out 5 stars, recommended

Stay strong, my friend - I'm hearing it's going to be available in my neck of the woods in 2 weeks, I'll let you know how it turns out.
