Report: Johansen decreases contract demands from Blue Jackets

Looks this will get done. Maybe Ryjo has finally come to his senses.

So far he has reduced it four times. From 7 to 6.5 to 6 to the latest rumor of 4.75. One of those is considerably not like the others. It's almost like a different person came up with the number...

I hope that's enough to get it done. But I still hope that he comes to his senses and realizes that 4.75 per for two years is not terribly different than 6yrs at 5.33 - 5.75. Lots of stability and insurance against a slump.

Bobby Ryan out with a possible concussion (I guess he ran into Kyle Turris during a practice drill). Hopefully, he heals quickly.

From Matty's link:

Several bankers had mixed reaction to Karmanos's claim that his team is worth at least $420 million. One banker said that it was unlikely he would fetch more than $300 million for the Hurricanes. But another banker noted that New York Islanders owner Charles Wang has reached an agreement to sell the Islanders for perhaps $500 million or more.

According to a recent lawsuit filed by Philadelphia lawyer Andrew Barroway, Wang had an agreement to sell the Islanders to Barroway for $420 million. Wang later upped his demand for the Islanders to $548 million. He subsequently sold the club to another group of investors.

Sports bankers said Wang got at least $480 million for the team.

Forbes magazine values the Islanders at $190 million.

:jaw:

what did he pay for it?

I found this link that states the following:

Citing the team's annual audited financial reports, Newsday reported Saturday on its Web site that Wang has spent $208.8 million -- an average of $23 million per year -- to keep the team operating. He also spent $74.2 million when he and Sanjay Kumar bought the club and assumed $97 million in liabilities.

It's time for ALL of the Rus-skis to go back home - those that have Canarduckian or A-merry-corn Citizenship can stay - otherwise... nyet, get on a jet.

Let Johansen go, but make his agent go with him for the duration

Tom ? Did Don Cherry hack your SportsHoopla account ?

I friggin hate when teams do that ! They hire a dollar chaser and decide he needs a letter. Isn't an A or a C symbolic of a guy who is all in , and all team ? Iggy was a great Flame , but since then all he is is a gun for hire.

I guess Colorado thought they might as well give him a shot?

And why the heck wouldn't they ? I just would never ever let the floating team to team year to year guys where a letter. They are a plug and play asset , not a heart and soul part of your Team
