Yeah, something looks wrong with Crosby, could explain his cold streak as of late (2 pts. in the last 5 games)

I know he's been sick about a week. I don't know how that's not mumps...it looks very muchso like the mumps. I suppose you can have a blocked/inflamed salivary gland without it being the mumps?

Am I missing something with all the players getting the mumps?

Do they not administer the MMR vaccine in Canada?

Please tell me Jenny McCarthyism isn't overrunning Canada too.

If it's possible he has the mumps he really shouldn't fuck around with it. It's not that bad unless you let it go, then it can lead to a lot of complications, like going sterile.

How can people question the Penguins medical staff, I mean isn't this the same staff that cleared Crosby to return to the lineup shortly after the hit from David Steckl?

Just an FYI that I've learned from all of this: the mumps vaccine wears off as you age. So boosters should happen, but it's likely a lot of these guys DID have the vaccine as a kid.

Yeah, I remember getting booster shots in high school, pix.

Hopefully, the mumps miss you.

Yes, they do, but it is not mandatory to have your kids vaccinated.

Unfortunately, Oprah + Jenny > medical doctors + research.

I was vaccinated, so I'm good.

Is the vaccinating not even mandatory when sending the kids to school? It goes state-by-state here, but in general the MMR is required to enroll the kids in public schools - and many private also - unless the parents sign a religious waiver. Some states/districts don't even allow for those if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think so, there's been a huge increase in measles cases in the lower mainland of BC over the last few years because people are "assuming" that every other kid is getting vaccinated, so the logic is my kid should be covered.

And the same staff that cleared Letang after Pacioretty concussed him.

Yeah, a misappropriation of herd immunity. We hear about that from time to time also.

It's great for kids who CAN'T have the vaccine because of other medical conditions. If only people have enough common sense though.
