Watched the first one yesterday. Liked it.

Seth created this show guys. It's a sit comedy. The SCI Fi is just the situation.

It's actually worse. It's a liberal political commentary pretending to be a shit comedy.

Just watched episode 4.

I liked it.
Good story.
Comedy was meh.

I think it's getting better. Not sure if I'd say it's hit it's stride.
Next week, Charlize Theron is a guest star, so I'll be watching.

I have now caught up on all the missed episodes.
Pretty consistant, as in mostly average. Some better than others.

It's going to need to take a step forward in order to survive.
I don't know what that might be, but they need to step it up to the next level.

Anyone else have any takes on it so far.

I'd give a 5/10 up to this point.
Mostly really good story plots, but squander a lot of it with bad comedy and some terrible lines.

I just ignore the politics of it as much as possible. Same as with shows like Family Guy. I don't have to agree with the characters perspective to enjoy it, although sometimes they can annoy.

11/2: The Orville (Fox) renewed for a 2nd season. It is the first of this fall's new shows (on any broadcast network) to earn a renewal.

It's a very uneven show (be it episode to episode or even within an episode), that being said I think last nights episode (8) was it's strongest effort yet.

As for the previous episode doing the black mirror angle, certainly, same as Community did it previous to Black Mirror. There will be overlapping ideas from shows

Decent episode, but the future bounty hunter ep was better.

However, the only thing I could think was “no good deed goes unpunished”. Brutal treatment for the only apparently decent person on the entire planet/moon.

I just realized the Chad L Coleman (Tyrese from Walking Dead) plays the spouse of the uni-sex Worf looking dude. Even after I saw it was him, I still couldn’t tell.
