It's crazy that they have three legitimate Heisman candidates at QB. You can't crown Braxton Miller unless he outperforms the other two in preseason. Given the other two's performances last year, Braxton Miller has not earned the benefit of the doubt of a starter's leash.

But, here's my question: Has Cardale earned that job already?

I think he has.
Looks like he's the best and he sure did a great job.
Wonder why people think otherwise.

Unless Cardale gets beat badly in preseason, he starts. Look at who he beat.

I think Barrett is your best QB to be honest.

i think he is the worst out of the 3 haha. he tore it up in the middle of the season but looked pretty blah against minny and indiana

I completely agree, Braxton Miller or Cardale Jones should be their starter. Jones has only had a small sample size, but at the same time, that sample size was the 3 most important games of the year... Whoever hands Ezekiel Elliott the ball will thrive regardless.

Honest question.

If Braxton doens't get hurt last year, does tOSU win the title?

Considering how few points Wisconsin scored... they would have definitely won the B1G Championship...

I think so, sad to say. Ezekiel Elliott ran for 200+ yards in all three games and the defense shut down the Ducks and Badgers and forced a lot of turnovers against the Tide.

Hard to say. Does the team still meld the way they were forced to without a starting QB going down? Lots of different scenarios could have played out. However, I believe Ohio State wouldO not have lost the V Tech game last year had Miller been the starter.

No, all three QBs are just about healthy, if not already, so earning starts now no matter what happened last year. (Or years prior in Miller's case)

I think Braxton's strengths plays more into Michigan State's strengths and that game goes differently. Barrett was much more of a passing threat than Jones or Miller. With Miller, I doubt they lose the VTech game though.

I wonder if part of Jones' success is that teams didn't know much about him. All three Ohio State QBs will be known quantities this year. Will teams be more prepared to deal with them this season? Maybe part of the reason Barrett stumbled a bit midseason, as an earlier post mentioned, was that teams were more prepared for him. One thing is for sure: No team will be underestimating any of them.

J.T Barrett had the better passing rating and has much more experience, but Jones is the only one not coming off an injury.

But it will be interesting to see how Jones does in normal games week after week and not just a couple of huge games at the end of the season with a month to prepare.

I'd go with Cardale Jones. He led the offense at the highest level.

I think the real question is, how patient will CUM be with who gets the start? Will he be quick to sub in games where the offense struggles?

I don't think anyone knows yet if Braxton can throw. They say he's healthy but he hurt his shoulder throwing a simple screen pass last year. I know my shoulder was never the same and I only dislocated it once.

He had 502 passing yards and 267 rushing yards in those two games combined with 8 total TDs. I'll take that kind of "blah" all season.

Don't forget what he did to Michigan State in East Lansing, as well.
