The only thing I've heard is Mike Groh getting a promotion. I haven't anything about any outsiders coming in to take that spot. A lot of people would prefer more of a QB coach/O-coordinator type guy though.

I heard Kirby was interviewing at Southern Miss too, so we might be looking for one of those also.

Pitt is very interested in your linebackers coach s well, per PPG and twitter.

Yeah, with a son on both teams, that's gotta be tough..lol. I guess not really though, LB coach to HC at Pitt ain't too bad.

Mike Sherman as Bama's new OC and either Luke Fickell from tOSU or Paul Chryst from Wisky will be Pitt's new HC. IMO

From tommy deas,

Sunseri is on the outside looking in on the Pitt job, and with the finalist being who 46&2 mentioned, Sunseri won't be going anywhere, not to Pitt at least.

Kirby Smart has removed himself from consideration for the SMU job, so it's looking like we're gonna have him for another year, and he will be getting a nice raise into the 7 figures soon.

Mike Groh is likely gonna move to offensive coordinator, and Saban will find a Wr coach that is a great recruiter.

Expect Doug Nussmeier from Washington to be our new offensive coordinator. There is also a good chance Lance Thompson will return to Alabama to take Sunseri's spot.

He did pretty well for the talent they had, with our talent at Bama he will be great. He was also the QB coach for 1st rd pick Jake Locker. He's gonna be a great fit at Bama.

Chase Goodbread has said that Thompson has told friends that he is coming back to Bama, he will have more on that soon.

Here's something pretty cool that a guy over on Tidesports put together about Doug Nussmeier.

"Take a look at how the Husky offense did before and since Nussmeier’s arrival at Washington.

The 2008 Huskies were the first 0-12 team in PAC-10 conference history and the only team in the country to finish the 2008 season without a victory. The Huskies were outscored 159-463 during the losing streak. Tyrone Willingham was fired at the end of the season and replaced by Steve Sarkisian who hired Doug Nussmeier as OC.

2008 - The Year prior to Nussmeier
National rankings shown in parentheses.

Total Offense - 263.2 ypg (117)
Rushing Offense - 99.3 ypg (106)
Passing Offense - 163.9 ypg (116)
Scoring Offense - 13.3 ppg (117)

Clearly, Nussmeier faced the daunting task of rebuilding one of the most inept offenses in all of college football and certainly the worst ever at Washington.

Here are the results:

2009
Total Offense - 375.5 ypg (62)
Rushing Offense - 139 ypg (68)
Passing Offense - 236.5 ypg (40)
Scoring Offense - 26.1 ppg (69)

Take a look at their recruiting rankings below and I think it’s clear that the upperclassmen in 2009 came from an absolute horrible recruiting effort in 2005. The 2005 signing class had 2 four-stars, 3 three-stars, and 8 two-stars.

2010
Total Offense - 362.5 ypg (76)
Rushing Offense - 172.2 ypg (38)
Passing Offense - 190.4 ypg (84)
Scoring Offense - 21.9 ppg (96)

2011
Total Offense - 409.9 ypg (38)
Rushing Offense - 154.3 ypg (63)
Passing Offense - 255.6 ypg (35)
Scoring Offense - 33.4 ppg (25)

Talent: At BAMA, Nussmeier will have FAR more talent and weapons than he ever dreamed of at Washington. He got that increase in offensive production with what I’d call second tier talent. What follows is Washington’s average Rival’s power rating and national rank per recruiting class beginning the 4 years prior to Nussmeier’s arrival:

2005 - Rivals ranked it #66 (dead last in PAC 12)
2006 - 2.82 (35)
2007 - 2.81 (36)
2008 - 2.92 (24)
2009 - Rivals ranked it #84 (worst in school history)
2010 - 3.10 (28)
2011 - 3.09 (23)

From SB Nation Jan 15, 2012

“The Washington Huskies have one of the best offenses in the Pac-12, partly due to the offensive innovation of their OC Doug Nussmeier. They definitely do a good job of running the offense and putting their skill players in the right position to produce points, even though they did struggle against upper-tier competition. Nussmeier and head coach Steve Sarkisian showed what they could do with ample preparation, as they put up 56 points on Baylor in the 2011 Alamo Bowl.”"

I heard earlier that we should expect Nussmeier to be named OC sometime this week, now I"m hearing that Saban also wants to meet with Stanford OC Pep Hamilton. Could still be some surprises, but I think it's gonna be Nussmeier.

Now that sounds like a pretty good fit..
