Without thinking: Nirvana

Thinking: Push

I think we give Nirvana points because Cobain blew his head off after one too many tummy aches, but Soundgarden is arguably the most influential band out of that Seattle scene. With that said, Nirvana was instrumental in killing hair bands before rap and pop garbage took control of the air waves.

Listened to Nevermind the other day for the first time in a long while. That is just an amazing work. Awesome. I think Bleach was okay. Later stuff was hedging but he never got to what have been their Vol 4 or IV.

Soundgarden takes one in the ass because of Chris Cornell's solo work, which is okay but cheesy as fuck. Kill your self, cut off your nuts kind of cheesy. If it weren't for that, I'd have to think about it. But a shirt unbuttoned down to your well muscled navel is a shirt unbuttoned down to your well muscled navel.

Nirvana all day long.

Soundgarden. Love their music and Cornell's vocals are alltime. They and AIC are my favs from 90s Seattle.

But can appreciate Nirvana. A lot of great song writing and talent in that band. Dave Grohl was such a beast on drums live, you watched him most of the time during their shows, and it would make your jaw drop. The talent was amazing.

Hmmm...this is tough. I generally have the great 'seattle' albums that I grew up with ranked as follows:

Pearl Jam - Ten
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Nirvana - Nevermind
Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies
Pearl Jam - Vs
Alice in Chains - Self Titled
Soundgarden - Down on the Upside
Everclear - Sparkle and Fade
Nirvana - In Utero

So probably Soundgarden. I might have to give this more thought. I consider all of these 10/10 albums, btw. I think if you count unplugged, I would give Nirvana and AIC the lead

From that time and place:

Temple of the Dog
Mad Season
AIC
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam
Nirvana

I wish those bands had all collaborated more back in the day. I find it easier to pick fav musicians:

1. Staley
2. Cornell
3. Vedder
4. McCready
5. Cantrell

... Cobain

Yeah..eh..Pacific Northwest. Close enough

Now you've done it. You've just unleashed the wrath of the Seattle inferiority complex wracked Portland music snob hipsters.

Man, every song from the 90s brings up memories of someone I used to know. Good memories, usually

Have to go Nirvana. That Unplugged album is just on another level. Regardless of what mood I'm in I could listen to it.
