He'll probably be back next year. There just aren't an abundance of decent first basemen/DH types that are available. Plus they will also have to find a corner outfielder because Hernandez will be gone. Given that, I think they hope France can fix himself and they roll with him again next year.

The guy has .300 BA/20 HR/95 RBI potential, but he's looked like an over-eager rookie this year with worse plate discipline that any Mariner hitter I can remember in recent memory. And that includes Geno, Teo, Zunino.

Can't find that info, but we are 41 strikeouts away as a team from reaching our worst season in that category.

They have a plan though. They got a bunch of dudes in the minors who should be ready to go by 2025, but Jerry also basically said the breakup of the current core in 2026.

Yeah, develop them enough and they "should be ready to go" to another team.

I've seen enough from the likes of Armstrong, Lincoln and others over the years to know, they just don't want anyone setting a precedent for the team.

I don’t think they will trade Ford or Young. But ya, with their situation they are in, it is ripe for one of those trades we all look back to and say WTF.
