Losing Peterson is straw the that broke your camel-toed ass, huh?

Now Beno, loosing Pete was tough but he wasn't exactly The Bear.

Plus there were many people in Boise that wanted Harsin back. So, we've got Harsin back. And Harsin just landed a top 10 QB recruit in the nation (Mark Rypien's nephew). Harsin brought in Kellen Moore. Boise State will be just fine.

Naw, y'all were fine with Peterson, Moore, Martin, Pettis, etc. Definite dropoff in talent the past couple of years.

You are correct. We lost 10+ guys from those 2009 - 2012 teams to NFL rosters.

But remember, it was coach Harsin that recruited a lot of that talent for those teams. Pete, as good as he was, was not a particularly good recruiter. So, with Harsin back -- we should bring the recruits back in; especially on offense. The question will be: can he coach them up like Pete?

Harsin = OVERRATED. Dude was lost once he started coaching in a big boy conference. Those triple reverse pass plays work in BSU's weak as fuck, jr high conference, but not in big boy conferences.

Yeah mean trick plays like this one against "weak as fuck" teams like the little 12 team shown here: :noidea:

Can't be mad at Saban. It's not like he held up a bank. Some of the sharpest people in Alabama did the math before making this offer and determined his product was worth $7mm a year. God bless him and America.

Hammer, you can blame the masses for this one. Well that and Nick's agent. He got Nick a raise by leaking to the media he was in contact wit Texas, which he has stated many times he never had a conversation about leaving with Texas or anyone this past year. This was pure and simple, what is called a preemptive strike and both parties got what they wanted.

:fify:

also a $400,000 bonus for just completing the season is ridiculous

Gotta love college football. The players can't even sign their own jerseys, subject themselves to severe injury, realize that only one in a thousand of them will ever make real money from the sport, understand that their talent fills stadiums, and now must play for a man that makes more money than anyone in the state.

While we all love the sport, the pervasive influence of money will eventually ruin it, if it hasn't already. It is becoming obvious that the top conferences will eventually form semi-professional leagues. The myth of the "student athlete" is clung to desperately, and not even the ones who mouth the phrase believe it. But this is America, it's true for our big corporations and our government too.

I don't know why everyone cares so much. If he is making the university more money than before he got there why not give him some of that? I am guessing he is making Bama a whole bucket of money and his pay should reflect that.

Seems like a bargain to me. Remember what Bama was the decade before he got there? A decade of mediocrity. IMO he's worth every penny if not more.
