they interviewed Tee Martin, who is black
Also interviewed their tight ends, who is also black

A team with a minority GM shouldn't have to prove they give minorities a chance.

The Rooney Rule is not about "giving monorities a chance"... smart guy.

I'm all for equality but I think all jobs should be hired based upon merit. Gruden was the best person for the job so he got it.

You hire the best man for the job, regardless of skin color period. It is just another shit rule they have in place to make them feel like they care.

Instead of the Rooney Rule they need to figure out a way for anybody of any race to get better connected and more exposure.

I get the benefit of the Rooney Rule of putting people on the radar that might not have been if they weren't given an interview. But I just don't agree with holding a gun to franchise's head if they clearly have the guy they want by forcing them to interview the closest black guy they can find.

Maybe having some sort of seminar that all owners and GMs have to attend where all assistant coaches are invited so they can have a couple of days to network and put themselves on the radars of some owners and GMs if the time comes when they need a HC or even a new defensive/offensive coordinator.

The NFL doesn't have a minorities issue it has a networking issue.

I see shit posted. Don't want to respond.

So the best I can do is not quote it and multiply it's existence.

Shocking that certain raiders fans just dismiss this, however have LOTS to say about other teams.
Of course we dismiss this, they complied with the rule. Nothing to see here........

Well, Marvin Lewis and Hue Jackson did not become available, for some unknown reason.

Wait until the Gooney Rule is expanded to women and Asians.

I'd give her an interview.
