now factor in under Hynes system and what the devils are lacking....

For me, while i can't complain with Auuvitu n Severson, a big bomber from the blue line seems to me as a standout weakness.

Next, maybe that 2nd leftie or some sort of player with a hard wrist shot....

I say all of that, then i think of who's coming up form our own system and its vergy exciting in itself...

Maybe size on the wing?

but again, too early to tell... got to wait til february at least.

I watched that entire Dallas game. Just a gutsy, great win on the road without the top player.

As for adding a player(s), as long as its adding younger and speedy type of player, I would be for that.
I know we all want playoffs but really like the course that Shero has been on since taking over. I would not disrupt the build yet, unless its the absolute right move (see Hall trade).

Severson has stepped up and that was needed after Larsson was traded.

Yea, atm i can't look for a must make move now. Shero got me Hall... I'm fucking goood LOL....

Just continue to build up the offense and system. I'll say this, from the opener vs FL to the last game vs Dallas, I definitely see a much improved form of play, attitude, performance, passion, energy etc....

lets see how far we go(february for me)...

a bomber from the blue line is the only area i'd look to improve.

Shero has his eye on the ball with this. He's said all along, long term success, nothing that hurts that for short term benefits.

Also, while we're at it, what the fuck were the Islanders thinking waiving PA Parenteau? He was a 20/20 guy last year on a heinously bad team, and that was a pretty average year from him, not like a one and done clarkson year. They sign him to a 1 year deal, making almost no money, and they waive him??? I bet they are regretting that ATM.

PA could score 5 goals the rest of the way, and he's still been worth it because he's prob been the biggest factor in us getting 3 wins this season. Little bursts like that can carry a team a long way towards a playoff spot. Best part, apparently he's great in the SO, so that's an added bonus to an area of huge weakness for us the last few years.

That's why the Islanders are the Islanders. They hit the jackpot with Tavares and outside of that they've continued to be the Islanders.

Our most glaring issue is the PP. If we can start scoring on the PP it will go a long way.

I was able to watch only until the 2nd period. They were up 2-0 and I think Quincey was reading this thread because he was firing some heavy shots from the blue line in that period. But Ducks tied that up quick.

Yea the PP is work in progress. They do get good chances. I think they move it around pretty well for the most part.

good god... lol

well if i was going to say i learned something new, i'd be lying.

Psychical play and pressure up front has been our Achilles heel during this season.

Hall or no Hall, the results wouldn't be different IMO. Our guys quickly succumb to the two fears mentioned above.

We need some size or 110% effort.

Despite scoring a PP goal tonight our PP is getting to fireable bad. I understand we don't have the 80s Oilers personnel out there but good god, get something going. Whatever their gameplan is it's lost on me because they can't set anything up. The only time we get chances is when it's a weird/broken play, it's almost never deliberate. Wouldn't mind heating up the assistant coach's seat.

Impressed they got the win tonight, even if it wasn't pretty. These are the kind of games that get lost in the overall scheme of things, but you have to win to put yourself in a good position at the end of the year.

Fun game to watch especially with the comeback. Probably not great for coaches though.
Leafs were better 3 on 3 in ot.
When PA hit post Or crossbar on that shootout attempt I thought it was over. Cory with nice stops on Matthews and Marner and JJ with great shot.
Yep 2 points is 2 points. All that counts.

Damn.... cant win em all.....

Feel Cory could've been better lately in these games.... offense is slightly picking it up, Camm is helping.

Zacha getting his legs back IMO. Defense is crushing! love it.

Pros and cons for sure the past 2. Cory has not been sharp of late, wonder if something is up? Injury? Personal issue? Or could just be a bad week, it happens to everyone.

Well that was a brutal shootout loss.

This team really misses hall in overtime and a shootout.

I gotta say Andy Greene fucking sucks he looked lost on the game tying goal and then he goes offsides on a 2on1 in overtime. Yeah I mean road game against the champs with our backup and you come away wi a point but really they should've gotten 2. Wtf is zajac doing out there taking the third shot
