I want Tillman back. He should retire a Bear and he is a great leader for the young guys to follow.

It is a shame. He basically does coach while playing and has the full respect a coach needs. He would be a great coach to have.

He would be a great coach but the long hours and tiresome work is not what he is looking for. I believe he should be signed for 1 more year

For what they paid Ball......I don't think they have backup in mind. They want him on the field

$3 million isn't starting corner money, but I agree he will get plenty of snaps. Presumably in the nickel package. He's a pretty mediocre cornerback though. He's a pretty good press corner, big enough to jam big guys, but was terrible in open field coverage. His backpedaling leaves a lot to be desired. I'd expect them to split Jennings inside as the slot corner when he comes in, but he won't be the every down guy.

I don't know if Father time has caught up to Jennings, but history says he is better outside. Put Ball at the Nickel and call it good.


I have to say, I really like the way the Bears brass is going about Free Agency this year. A lot of lower profile guys, that should just be hitting their respective primes, all at a decent price.(For the most part)

the problem is that Ball's weakness is inside defense, and his strength is pressing. He doesn't make sense as a slot corner. The whole point of having a guy who excels at press-bail is to put him on a big guy outside.
