He is slowing down. Has played over 811 matches on the pro tour and with his grinding style has an equivalent mileage of maybe 1000 matches on his body. He is 28 but at the stage of a 30 year old. I don't think the latest symptoms are due to any injuries or any other spooky stuff. Plain and simple his body is slowing down. Becker burned out soon as well. Exited with a wrist injury.

yeah, it was a genuine lol from me.

i'm not a nadal fan by any means, but since this board doesn't have shit heels like the old espn board, i don't feel a need to take jabs at him. but i still chuckle at those who do.

I have been saying it for a while with both him and Serena. Age catches up to everyone. It caught up to Roger and now these 2. That's life.

The press is going crazy trying to figure out what's wrong with Rafa. ESPN WRITERS are scratching their heads off. The thing is there is nothing wrong with Rafa. He may or may not pick it up from here on for te rest of the clay swing. Just like Fed Rafa can retire right now head held high.

I was wrong about Rafa being done. I was wrong too about Fed being done. I still had a flicker in the candle for Fed though. I knew he had it in him to win another slam and get to 18 if the draw opened up or if top players slacked or if he got some luck on his side. But Fed did this one by playing solid and believing he could win. No other way is it possible. Many things have to come together for these two to win slams at this stage. and it did for Fed.

And this idiot said Rafa was done years ago. What a dumbass.

What's your point? I hope you are still trying to make one.

Are you Fiero/Leader o'cola? If not, why are you responding to my post quoting him?

Now that you mention it, you were way off, too. Rafa looked like a million bucks with that wrist healed. The coming French Open has a new favorite.

I have no problems with Rafa winning the FO and he looks like a favorite as of now. He has to prove it in the clay swing also. In fact if he wins and catches up to Fed I have no issues either. Fed got his 18 which I think he deserved for the last four years.

they're both old.

i thought rafa's legs would be gone way before this, though.

we're living in a golden age for men's tennis. have been for over a decade.

Yep tennis was awful when it was just Fed dominating Roddick and Hewitt early in the 2000's.

something to keep in mind is that fed was consistently making major finals against nadal on his best surface (clay) at that time.

fed was waiting for nadal in hard court major final after hard court major final, and nadal was losing to guys like blake and youzhny.

we're talking about for 3+ years in the early 00s when they were 1 and 2 on opposite sides of every major draw.

so let's not dismiss what fed did during that time, okay.

Fed lost some of his hair. I was surprised too at the presentation ceremony. He can probably get a plugin or weave or something. His sponsors don't need to suffer because of this.
