They said he's been hitting the ball hard, but has had the lowest launch angle of his career and they have been working on getting him to raise it. Would be good if it paid off. This team can't stay above .500 with him struggling all year.

He could get a better launch angle if JRod would be patient and lay off those low outside pitches forcing the pitcher on 2-0 or 3-1 counts to pitch more into his power zone.

Odd for them to be worried about his launch angle; seems like they'd have a bit more concern for the 2 to 5 swings per plate appearance he attempts at pitches that are 9" outside the strike zone.

Was thinking the same when I heard it. Launch angle only matters on hittable pitches.
