Back when this team was fun to watch :gaah:
2012 was probably the most frustrating season ever for me. That team was supposed to win 100 games and easily make it to the WS, instead Wash rode everyone into the ground and they lost the god damn WC games to Joe Saunders.

That was almost as disappointing a loss to me as game 6, because I thought that was going to be the year. That and it was Joe Saunders and we couldn't manage to get shit done offensively

Game 6 was a fluke. We play the bottom of the 9th 99 more times we close it out 97 times out of 100.

The end of 2012 was truly embarrassing.

The end of 2012 was truly embarrassing.

Pissed away a 5 game lead with 9 games to play, after dominating the league for most of the year.

Then Hambone goes out and makes 5 outs on 4 pitches, with none of his hits leaving the infied (if memory serves correctly) in the Wild-Card game.

2011 broke my heart. 2012 straight up pissed me off.

In 2012 the Rangers became a team that thought they could coast and then flip the switch whenever it was time.

They had 6 position players who played about 150 games and just had two back to back long post seasons. They were driven into the ground by a manager that didn't like giving veterans many off days. That flip switch theory is impossible to quantify.

This is a good time to sit Nap and let Rua play and get more AB exposure. Not that I expect Ryan to do something great but he can do no worse than Nap. Let the young guys play in these situations.

I had zero problem with Jeffress being in that trade seeing as much as we gave up, but damn his velo disappeared when we got him. BTW that's a running theme with a lot of our guys.

This man was the main focus of Norm's semi-rage.

It made him crazy that a guy who's already been abused, was asked to come into a game (not sure if it was Houston or Seattle) when we were getting our asses handed to us, yet Jeffress was asked to pitch late in the game. Honestly makes no sense......And I've been a semi-defender of Banister's handling of the team/coaching staff.

My thing w Jeffress, that I didnt know at the time of the trade, is that he is one failed test away from being out of the league. I just don't give up anything really for a guy like that. Even if you think he might be 1 of a couple pieces that may get you deep in one postseason

Don't disagree with either one of ya. But should we have made the trade was not part of today's conversation.

But it's today and he's on the team, and producing while being abused which is Norm's point. Frankly, I agree 100% with that point, while totally understanding where you're coming from.

Oh I see Norm's point and believe he makes a good point. Since Jeffress is on the team he should be treated like anyone else and given credit where it's due.

Kind of feels like Deja Vu with the pitching matchups. Facing Trevor Cahill and Jered Weaver in the same week on the west coast. Get to see some old friends the next few days.

The ever disappearing following of the Texas Rangers is in progress even as I write.
