Movies like Scarface and Bladerunner seem to get the same reaction when the topic of them gets broached with people who hadn't seen them until the last 10 years.. atleast from what I've noticed. I saw them either at the time of their release or within a few years (in the 80s) as a young'un and thought pretty highly of them. Those who are a little younger than me who had heard how good they were will tell me they just couldn't get into them or didn't see what the big fuss was about.

Movies I need to see.. Lord of the Rings. All of them. Haven't seen one yet.

for what's mentioned so far in the thread, I'd rank them....

BladeRunner (final cut, only)
Gone with the Wind
LotR Trilogy (extended editions, only)
Big Lebowski
Scarface (Pacino is awesome, movie is only good)
It's a Wonderul Life

Completely agree with final cut on Bladerunner.

I bought the bluray edition of LOTR for someone a year ago because she wanted to replace her dvd versions. Loads of extras as well.

E.T.
The Big Lebowski
Pulp Fiction
99% of what's been released in the last 5 yrs. I think I'm averaging one movie at the theater a year. I hate Hollywood.

I'm not typically into that sort of thing, but these movies are certainly impressive. Start with The Hobbit in 3D and go from there. :suds:

Pulp fiction and lebowski are great if you like to use movie one-liner-quotes.

Me and my bro are going to watch The Big Lebowski this week. It's unreal that we haven't already as we love Bridges and Goodman both.

That's exactly what a coworker said to me. Although, truthfully, I'm still not 100% sold on the 3D thing. If I see it without, do you think I'll notice that it was designed primarily as a 3D offering?
