Current MLB Salary Cap Draft $250,000,000.

Non-HOF non-current - $40 MIL
Pre-1935 or HOF non-current - $50 MIL
Babe, Bonds - $70 MIL

Limit of 3 HOF picks. No limit on non-HOF picks

35 players
2 lineups (18 total)
7 SP's (Mandatory 4-3, 3-4 ratio RHP to LHP)
6 RP's
4 bench (PR, C, IF, OF)
I don't like 2 lineups, too many pitchers (both starting and RPs), I don't like doing current players... I will do whatever the consensus is, but this doesn't sound like one I will enjoy much.

We could switch it to one lineup just trying to mix it up but if you don't like current MLB then I guess this won't work

Like I said, I am good with whatever people like. I just know more of the old timers than the new guys. I am only 1 man with 1 opinion, so don't let me ruin it for you.

Yeah, I like my idea better, but it's baseball, so I'm good to roll with any format unless Milk comes up with it:pound:

I thought we needed 12 pairings for 24 total? Maybe I have just been looking at the computer all day and I can't think lol...
Nah, it's not two per, it's one per position. So, if your LF is from the 90's, you can't pick anyone else from the 90's(except a backup LF). When you pick your first SP, whatever decade he is from is where your other 4 SP's must come from. This will add a lot to the game IMO

Have we ever done a future's draft where we draft and not vote until a set amount of time later (a year? 3 years?) Then, come back to it after that set amount of time and vote then? Would work well in MLB, I think with the minors system, but would probably work for all sports.

Well it would be current players and you said you didn't like doing current baseball drafts...

Oh, I would hate to do it for baseball. But it is interesting and different, so...

I try to suggest things that everyone will enjoy, even if I don't necessarily like the idea. I would enjoy doing one for football and/or basketball. And I would sit through a baseball one, just to do the other 2. But I have very little knowledge of current baseball players in the majors or minors.

Thought for baseball, a decades draft with a couple of twists. We draft the same 24 players we always do, but you only get one position per decade, and that decade is decided by each GM.
We draft the same positions as always, but let's say my first pick is Roger Clemens. Rocket is a SP/80's, so whenever I pick my other 4 SP's, they must be from the 80's as well. So while it's an open draft, you have to understand that if 4 other GMs select 80's for their SP's, that means 25 starting pitchers from that decade, which might influence when you select them. Same thing for Relief Pitchers, wherever my first RP comes from, they all come from. Positions are one per decade, BUT, if you selected a C from the 50's, if you have a backup C, he must be 50's as well

C,1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, RF, DH, SP, RP. DH can be a position player, but once he's designated DH, that decade is burned and he can't be switched. 5 bench players must match starters decade by position.

Strippers need a union. 13hrs on your feet is just way to much.
