Aaron Maybin with 1.5 sacks.

Jerry Hughes with a sack (wouldn't mind the Niners offering something for him in trade).

4 catches for 42 yards for Devin Thomas. He's looked pretty good this preseason.

I saw something somewhat disturbing in the Chiefs/Packers game. Some Chiefs guy went for an INT and stepped in front of the receiver but they were so close that they hit helmets and they flagged him for a 15 yard personal foul of helmet to helmet contact with a defenseless receiver.

Sure, by the letter of the rule it's a penalty. Obviously the intent wasn't to headhunt though, he was just going for the INT. Even the Packers broadcasters were saying it was a bad call.

I guess it only disturbs me, because I don't like when rules meant to stop something like headhunting, might end up stopping guys from aggressively going for the INT.

I completely agree! If this is how they are going to call that penalty, we'll be seeing a lot of passing records going by the wayside.

Ouch for Ryan, fortunately he won't be call upon to take the reins anytime soon.

the Colts probably won't be trading Hughes

for some reason people are calling him a flop because he didn't put up a lot of stats

What kind of stats are you expecting him to put up with Mathis and Freeney ahead on the depth chart????????? He won't put up stats until one of those two finally starts to show ageing.

Yeah didn't understand(and still dont) why Indy drafted Hughes.... he's better suited for a 34 OLB and as a 43 DE, he doesn't fit their style.

whatever Indy just pissed off a Niner fan that nigh......:drink:

Clyde, the way I look at that is like this; Locker is a back up, so essentially he played very well against his level of competition. (Granted this is a 50,000 ft analysis - but still.)

I look at Kap the same way, how well did he do against his level of competition, and so on. On the surface, I think this speaks well for Locker.

Sink or swim Locker is the guy I wanted as well. I wanted them to dump Smith, draft Locker and sign Hass.
So far Aldon looks like a solid pick up so I will be delighted to be wrong on that. Not to sure about Kaep though:boom:
watched some of the Bengals /Colts yesterday and Mays got called on a PI that led to some points for the Colts. Smart move to dump him

Ponder's problem is that he's only able to throw dink & dunk stuff. A "good" game for him was 5.18 YPA.

Newton's
had the same problem because his intermediate & long range accuracy have been horrid so far.

That's exactly how I felt. Take Locker at 7, nab Hasselbeck in FA, and let Locker watch Hasselbeck until his ready, whenever that would be. Coulda, woulda, shoulda though - and I still have faith in Kap.
