Michael Crabtree Receives a 4 year extension: 35 million/19 Guaranteed

Michael Crabtree won't be testing the free-agent market again next offseason.

Crabtree signed a four-year, $35 million contract extension Wednesday, a source informed of the deal told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. The deal includes nearly $19 million guaranteed, Rapoport reported.

He's been playing well....well deserved. He's a solid #2 WR to Cooper.

We need a legit TE and defensive help in the offseason.....maybe some depth at OL.

I think that's a solid move for the Raiders. Crabtree has played pretty well with a new QB and locking up a WR that has developed some chemistry with a young Carr should keep them relevant in the future paired with Cooper. Now Oakland can focus on the defense and try and push for the playoffs next year and find a pass rusher to pair with Mack. Losing Tuck midseason was a blow as well.

The Raiders are definitely improving. Locking up Crabtree is a good move. I'm looking forward to this Sunday's matchup between the Broncos and Raiders. Could be a preview of a new AFC West young quarterback rivalry with Carr and Osweiler.

Yep. IMO, the Raiders need to add some more pieces to the defense (the secondary mainly) and improve depth on the OL (we've stuggled since Hudson has gotten banged up) and maybe get a really good TE.

Keep building that DEF...with Cooper/Crabtree outside, OAK can get a good TE prospect from the draft that doesn't mind blocking in the later rounds.

We have Rivera and Wolford who have potential but I'm impatient and think a veteran TE in FA could help him a lot. He makes some bad decisions at times throwing INT's. I think a really good TE would help him out a lot.

I'd be a kind of shocked if Eric Berry, apparently the best safety in the league if you believe PFF, didn't win it considering what he is doing coming off of chemo.

He's had a good season, but he's always been a bit of an enigma to me. Even going back to his lengthy hold out as a rookie, it seems like money is all he cares about. I hope for Oakland's sake that he's not just happy getting paid.

I'm far from a Crabtree fan, but you don't make it 7 years in the NFL if money is ALL you care about. Contract holdouts make it seem like that, but that viewpoint is a bit narrowminded imo.
