We stuck to a 2-3 zone despite having 3's rained over us in the second half. Brilliant strategy.

I won't even mention the joke we call offensive sets.

Oh, and why do we keep wearing orange when we play UVA? Whoever coordinates that stuff must not know UVA has orange too.

Whew, I was afraid we might win one and save JJ's job. But he coached 'em up until the end. Ran the offense down to crap and let UVA solve the D and then just stuck with it.

Even if we won, it shouldn't save his job. Surely Babcock makes decisions beyond such a short term spectrum of vision. Yeah, the guys played hard. But there's a difference between playing hard and playing well. Plus, UVA's strategy plays into our hands. Their style is basically "first team to 50 pts wins". For a team that's woefully offensively challenged like us, that gives us a least a chance. Don't let the effort fool you. This team is still very much a mess from top to bottom

Losing aside, I think Devin Wilson has turned the corner a bit the past couple weeks. He played really well last night...considering the lack of support on offense. I think he'll be real good down the road. I understand the slow pace that JJ has them playing, but I think they are letting too much time come off before actually looking for a shot. I was surpised to see Emelogu jacking up some bad shots towards the end....I guess he got greedy after hitting a few threes. Trevor Thompson has looked better lately too....hopefully he can put on some muscle during the offseason. I am encouraged by the freshmen and growth out of JVZ. Time is ticking for JJ though.

likewise, it was much more competitive than I expected it to be...I've said it earlier in the season, and i'll say it again, this team is incapable of finishing a game strong, as soon as white dude (cant think of his name) hit that 3 in the waning minutes, I knew we were in trouble.

I maintain that Karl Hess is the Ron Cherry of basketball.
