I didn't, but I understand how poorly boxing's system of scoring is. It rewards inaction, stalling, & fleeing. It values a counter punch from a guy on the run, more that a punch from an aggressive boxer who is moving forward.

It's the reason Floyd wins boxing matches(I won't call them fights) & it's the reason boxing has been dying.

You make it seem like its impossible for an aggressor to beat a counter-puncher. Normally, the aggressor wins.

Look around and you will see boxing is loaded with aggressors who have world title fights. If you look at The Ring top 10, five are clearly action fighters, three are clearly defensive specialists, and two are somewhere in between. Only two of them have won less than 2/3 of their fights by knockouts (Floyd being one of them).

Floyd doesn't win because the system is stacked in favor of him. He wins because he is clearly the better fighter. Again, Floyd outlanded Pacquiao. He landed crisper punches. How the fuck would it be fair or more entertaining to say "you barely got touched for ten rounds and you landed crisp punches all night but since you didn't act like a rabid dog, you lose?" What would be the point of that?

I love hearing people complaining about the fight.

Floyd style is boring but he gets the job done.

Did you guys expect a brawl to make out?

Was it worth the money? Hell no which is why I told myself I will never purchase another Floyd fight since like 2010. His fights are boring and are never worth the price of admission or PPV.

I had the fight even through 6 but Floyd destroyed him in the 2nd half.

I had it 116-112 as did 2 of the other judges.

Floyd waited 5 years but he got the job done. I've never seen anyone move backwards as fast as he can.

My thoughts on the Pac vs Mayweather fight..

It was filth

But seriously. It looked like two guys trying to earn a paycheck. Hardly any hard hits or even a remotely close to a staggering hit or knockdown. Yes Mayweather won and I figured he would, but it looked like two guys doing nothing but playing scared the entire time.. Pac let Floyrd dictated the fight way too much.

I know Floyd is one of the greatest defensive fighter and counter-punchers of all time, but if he really wasn't afraid of Manny's power, why did he not finish him in the second half of the match? Then again Manny barely got touched up either..

Floyd was very intelligent, he didn't wait to get knocked down before running from Pacquiao like Mosley did, he did it from the opening bell.

Floyd did his job, but I was disappointing that Manny didn't connect much.. Or play very aggressive for that matter.. He actually stated that he thought he was winning lol

Call me a troll if you want, I've never seen anyone back peddle that much in a fight. Yes, it's smart to be defensive in a fight but Floyd wasn't trying to fight at all. I'm not trying to be a 'hater' or a dick, I'm just calling it like I see it and I think it was pretty obvious to anyone who isn't a Mayweather fan that he was trying to fight as little as possible, not just keep Pacquiao from landing as little as possible, but just trying not to fight in general. Clearly he was trying to kill time as much as possible. It's very amateurish, and it just proves to me that Mayweather is afraid and has always been afraid. His name is too big now, the judges would never let him lose a decision. It's the reason why I predicted a month or two ago that Pacquiao would require a knockout in order to win. It's a smart move by Mayweather though, he knew all he had to do was fight as little as possible and he'd get the decision. Like I said, he knows how to win.

What are you talking about? He stood toe to toe with Manny plenty of times and Manny couldn't do anything because Mayweather kept jabbing him back. Even when Manny tried to go on attack mode, Mayweather was blocking them.

Its funny, because people are attacking Mayweather, but isn't saying a damn thing about Manny and how conservative he was. Mayweather was cleary the aggressor.

People kill me when they say boxing is dying. Boxers on PBC make around(on average) $1M a fight. Where is that money coming from? There are some UFC fighters who work part time at Lowe's to make ends meet. Heck, even Rhonda Rousey complained about a ring girl making more than her. For all the talk of boxing dying, they are really bringing money in and it doesn't just appear out of thin air. I like UFC but boxing's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Mayweather was clearly the aggressor? I don't know what fight you were watching bud, I saw Pacquiao moving forward all 12 rounds. At the beginning Mayweather was fighting a little bit in order to squeeze out the first couple of rounds, he was also using headlocks and low blows to try to slow Manny down too, but after the 4th and especially after the 6th Mayweather wasn't trying to fight anyone.

You really think that? Floyd was backing up all the time. I had Floyd winning 8 rounds to 4, but it wasn't because he was aggressive. I had Floyd winning because he dominated the scoring categories of defense and ring generalship.

If you are going to cite CompuBox, keep in mind that CompuBox stats should be taken with a grain of salt. CompuBox makes itself sound like it is computerized, but it's really just two dudes trying the best they can to count punches thrown and landed while they are watching the fight live at full speed. It may be somewhat reliable for punches thrown, but there's a lot of room for error in the punches landed stat that they provide. As far as punches thrown, Pac and Floyd were about even according to CompuBox; however, CompuBox did have Manny throwing more power punches.

Has Mayweather ever been the aggressor? That's why he is known as a defensive wizard with hardly any KOs. He simply outlasts his opponents with counterpunches.

I think many fans long for the days when boxing was more main stream. Maybe the recent network shows will help.

In his earlier days before he went to full self-preservation mode, Mayweather did bring more offense in the ring. The fights with Genaro Hernandez and Diego Corrales comes to mind.

Manny Pacquiao to have surgery on "significant tear" of rotator cuff in right shoulder

Manny Pacquiao will undergo right shoulder surgery later this week to repair a "significant tear" in his rotator cuff, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache told ESPN.com on Monday.

"We have an MRI scan that confirms he has a rotator cuff tear. He has a significant tear," said ElAttrache, who was still with Pacquiao at his Kerlan Jobe Orthopedics office in Los Angeles when he spoke to ESPN.com on Monday evening.
