Mavericks owner Mark Cuban summed up his feelings about the Miami Heat over the weekend.

Mark Cuban has buried the hatchet with numerous of his former foils, but the Miami Heat remain on his bad side.

“Hate's a strong word, but it's probably not strong enough,” Cuban said of how he feels about the Heat.

“It's not the individual players at all,” he said. “It's just the whole representation of 2006 still sticks with me.”

The Mavericks blew a 2-0 lead in the 2006 Finals to lose 4-2, giving Miami its first NBA title. The two teams met again five years later when the Mavericks toppled the star-studded Heat team in its first year with the triad of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh for Dallas' first and only championship.

Wade and the Mavs have a long-standing dislike for each other that goes back to the perception Wade drew too may fouls against he Mavs in '06 among other small clashes. It's one of the underrated rivalries in the league, and it's a good thing that Cuban's willing to come out and just say it. He should hate the Heat. They've been a nemesis. That's part of what makes the 2011 title so special.

course the funniest part imo after the 2011 championship series was David Stern giving the O'Brien to his assistant to hand it to Mark Cuban...

Dallas got hosed in 2006, but made up for it in 2011. I'd rather it be that way than reversed, winning in 06 and losing to LBJ

Of course he hates them.
All of the players he was hoping to sign prefer to play for Arison in Miami.
On top of that, he's still about 2006 when a Wade annihilated him in games 3-6.

He seems like a players owner, but for whatever reason, top FA seem to shun him annually.

I think the NBA kind of cares about what Cuban says. He's been calling for transparency of the referees and he's starting to get it. Every other day the NBA is coming out and admitting bad end-of-game calls. All of those fines finally paid off.

i absolutely love Mark Cuban. I love his style. He is a hero to me. I would love to make a company ..sell it for billions, then buy a sports team. He is living the dream.

While i really disagree with whoever said the Mavs were screwed in 2006... they had a 13 point lead up 2-0 with 6 minutes left in game 3. If they hit jumpers they win. But i digress.

What I wanted to say.. he can hate my heat. But he can also buy any sports team I own and I know they would be better in good hands of an owner/fan who doesnt interfere to the harmful level like some owner/fans.
