It was hilarious most of the season seeing Rangers fans bitch and moan about Bochy, while I was sitting here thinking how I'd love for the M's to have a multiple world series winning manager instead of Servais.

Backup catcher is a position I am really curious about on what they do. They did the same thing last year with him and it ended up biting them. But also, do they give Murphy all the money that he probably would get knowing that there is a slim chance he plays a full year?

It just seems like a gamble and not a position I want them to be at the end of free agency saying oh crap we need a backup catcher and get stuck with an O’Keefe type or like how they needed a left handed bat last year and got stuck with LaStella instead of getting a MLB bat.

I have been asking myself the same question on this. Murphy is a great leader for this team, but you can't count on him. Guys you can count on on that role aren't worth anything. Are two buddies on the podcast keep mentioning Zunino. I thought they should have picked him last year when he was released and Murphy went down. I know he K's like Teo, but plays better defense than most and when he does connect it goes. Plus he is a great teammate from everything I have read on him.
