The safety was behind Nelson. If he scored he would have had to work for it.

Game didn't go as I hoped but at least we get the W. I thank the Lions once again for a massive headache from screaming.

Well, every season you lay an egg and lose a game against an inferior team. The Lions played poorly enough to lose, but the other team missed the FG. I'll take it since you generally lose a few where you outplay the opponent.

Let's give Zimmer some credit. He's one of the top defensive minds in the NFL. We only scored 17 last time.

The other team did not miss a FG. We BLOCKED a FG.

Like I needed another reason not to go to a Lions game.

1) big screen TVs
2) lazy boy more comfortable than stadium seats.
3) beer and drugs cheaper outside stadium
4) no chance of high-fiving dude who was just playing in a butthole.

Actually make that the new no.1

And their last "hail mary" attempt that fell short.

Before they went for that absurd 68 yard fg, I feared them trying a bomb and us getting hit w a PI and end up losing the game on an easy FG. Really surprised by the call to go for the long FG.

They missed their first attempt. It went wide right.

53+ yarders are missed as much or more than they are made. And the 68 yarder was just rediculous and had no chance. Not sure how those are significant to the outcome of the game. If they made them they would have considered themsleves lucky.

Still, It was not a good performance. Especially on offense. Defense sucked it up and at least gave us a chance to pull it out, but even they looked sloppy and missed a lot of tackles. Even special teams was less than average. So I get where you guys are coming from.

If he makes that first one, which was well within his range, the Vikings would have had 17 points, not 14. That's pretty significant when we ended up winning by two, imo...

I understand that part. And I know he has the distance. He has not been good the last 2 years (after an outstanding 1st year) from over 50. Barely 50%. And most of those are from barely 50. The one he missed was 53-54. My guess is he makes 1 out of 3 of those. All I was saying is that the odds were on our side. It was not fortunate that he missed, it would have been fortunate for them if he made it.

If Ross holds onto that damn pass the game isn't about a last second FG chance.

The ball hits off his shoulder pads on the 2 yard line. Stafford takes a lot of shit but the guys not named Tate or Johnson need to make plays when he delivers!

Actually it went right through his hands. The pass was low and on target, where only Ross could catch it. That would've lead to a first down(maybe he rolls in to the endzone?). Either way, you're correct that everyone, when given chances at clutch plays, need to make them.

:agree: I remember that play as well.

This offenses success lies much more with high percentage plays so there is less margin for error. There is always the occasional chuck deep to CJ but mostly we have gotten away from that and need to execute on a regular basis.
