I'm totally cool with it. Mayhew was just fired cause the roster sucks. Its unreasonable to think this was playoffs or bust to begin with. BQ, Caldwell, JBC, Austin and an improved roster will all be back next year.

I like Austin but I think Cooter is overrated. He is just much better than Joe Lombardi.

Well Stafford loves him. And he's about to get 200 milion. Makes sense to keep the O together. Its only going to get better w better and improved talent.

If Caldwell is still around to keep both coordinators handcuffed then we wont be much better even with more talent. He is also one of the worst in game coaches I have witnessed. Overall he is better than most of our recent coaches, but nowhere near good enough. Stafford bailed his ass out 8 times this year. We could have easily been 2-14.

Prater was a bail bondsman himself.

He was considered a terrible coach at the end of last season by some here. I defended him in staying for the continuity and going 6-2 down the stretch. Many of the valid points made against him, I was aware of last year. The in game decisions haven't changed and his conservative style almost cost the second Bears game. Going 0-4 down the stretch doesn't cut it for me.

Caldwell is 27-21 as Lions coach.

This year we had 9 wins. 8 were 4th quarter comebacks from Stafford.

The combined record of the teams we beat was 56-87.

Caldwell is what he is. A mediocre coach and terrible motivator.

You are up 14-10 at halftime. Home field with your most hated rival for the NFC North crown. There is absolutely no reason to come out flat and get smoked in the 2nd half. That shit is all on Caldwell and Stafford.

Problem is Stafford is next to impossible to replace... Caldwell isn't.

Lions fans can make excuses for Caldwell all they want. I am not buying into him whatsoever.

I'm neutral on Caldwell so I don't have much of a problem with him coming back. They need play makers on defense especially at the DE and LB positions. Levy's done

We get killed in the 3rd quarter on both sides of the ball EVERY week. That is the coaching staff. Fire Caldwell.

The clincher for me was last night when Stafford threw a 30 yard pass (and the Packers DB got a serious looking neck injury). Huge momentum shift for us to complete that but the next play looked like crap.

The Packers had a safety playing corner and we didn't immediately test their secondary. We ran the ball. Caldwell probably thought he was going to fool the Packers D. His unimaginative and conservative style is not going to win games over smarter or more inspiring coaches.

When will the Lions have a coach that has the capability to outsmart the guy on the other sideline?

Caldwell's 'prepare and execute' mentality only works if you actually have more talent than the other team. If two teams execute their own plans then the better team will win. Mediocre teams need to come up with good, innovative gameplans to win tough games. Caldwell has proven he is incapable.

Yo @RobBase

Barry's gonna get to be in the new banner, right?

(Bills banner is cool. Just saw it for the first time maybe ever.)

Lions Mount Rushmore Barry, Hanson, Calvin, and Suh

I can't argue with Calvin and Barry ... some other names to consider ... Bobby Layne, Alex Karras, Lem Barney, Billy Sims, Charlie Sanders, Doak Walker, Dick LeBeau and Mike Lucci just to name a few.

The Lions only have three player that started with the Lions that are Hall Of Famers under the Ford Family Ownership... Barry Sanders, Charlie Sanders and Lem Barney. No other players are worthy to be on the banner.
